I agree.

Seriously, why the hell can't people just accept that we use giant hopping marsupials as our primary means of transport?

You would think it would just be a generally accepted fact by now.

How could they not? Convenient as it is over there, it'd simply be stupid not to ride kangaroos in Australia.

Now excuse me, I need to put on my lederhosen and meet some business associates for lunch (bratwurst and sauerkraut, of course).

RIDE KANGAROOS??? Hah, as an Aussie I can assure you that's ridiculous. We use them to draw carts which transport precious things like school children and beer.

so they don't punch you in the face and break all your bones?
The "boxing kangaroo" thing is a myth. They are trying to grab you with their front legs, and then jump up and kick you in the guts with their hind legs. They can kick hard enough to smash bones, and their feet are clawed, they could eviscerate a victim.

Unfortunately, there's no worldwide sport for that, so they got lumped in with boxers.

Modern kangaroos aren't big enough to ride, all the big (3 metre tall) ones were killed off when humans turned up.

I'm sure someone's tried it for one reason or another (drunk, dare, thought it'd be cool, etc...).

Yeah, we do. Here in Canberra all the Kangaroo's are owned by Lebanese gangs, though the Croats and the Serbs have been moving in on the market, it's a shame to see all the traditional owners (Bogans) getting pushed out of their Kangaroo rackets.

fukken' seconded.

I find this thread retarded and condescending, to say the least.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to saddle up my Emu.

As an Aussie, I can tell you we do indeed ride kangaroos.

(I mean, how else do you think we avoid drop-bears?)

oh yayyy...
Aussies get kangaroos, new zeland get sheep, americans get eagles, canadians get moose, polish get polar bears. WTF do us brits get, the bulldog cavalry, the swan airforce and the overpaid footballer navy...
