No, this isn't a trick question.

It just seems to me that threads that have a poll attached seem to have more views and more replies in general. Although there are more normal threads. What do you think? While i realise that this is a completely asinine thing to post, it did get me wondering. And yes, i realise it will have more views because people just want to check the results and that there may be more posts due to the content being somewhat contentious.

Maybe you feel like people need to slow down with the polls? Are the poll threads affecting YOUR threads? Have your say!

Nah, I determine which threads I'm going to look at by how many posts it has. If it's got a few pages worth of posts, I know my post will probably not be read by many people and my opinion will go unnoticed, but if a thread is fresh, such as this one, my post will be one of the first things they read.

I like being noticed ._.

Yes.

It lets you see the general threads consensus without going through pages upon pages of comments.

Also, factor in that it allows for more interaction, and people who normally don't post Vote.

That's what I think anyways =P

Well, there certainly seems to be a huge number of threads with polls on the first page. Like 10 of them.

I guess they do get more attention.

Yes. But only for views, not posts. I'll go to almost any poll thread, read it, then give my opinion (via poll) then leave if I have nothing else to say.

Some of those polls are pretty useless. There's always some new guy that adds a poll just to try being a little funny. It isn't...

I tend to look (when skimming page one) at threads without polls, Then look at polls.

Polls tend to be about...well...Poor subject matter (usually)

They get a lot more attention from me. I vote quite a bit more than I post.

They get more attention but only in the poll results itself.
Many people put in their option in the poll and then go without posting what they put in and why.
