It's just another hack & slash. Terrible story, terrible voice acting, terrible gameplay... It's only a matter of time until games like Bikini Samurai Squad start getting the GOTY award. I wouldn't be surprised either; the masses seem to love everything that doesn't require brain power.

That's why PopCap are just freaking rich, and the Wii and DS are the best-sellers.

Back on topic, as a gamer who caters and enjoys games when strategy and variety come hand-in-hand, Prototype felt mediocre to me.

I just don't enjoy killing cannon fodders and being raped by units which can only be stunned by using a specific skill you have yet to unlock.

It's good to see the halo threads away for a bit, but now the prototype's moved in with the infamous's, I think it's only a matter of time before domestic violence breaks our, I've got 911 on speed dial.

I... Don't think you were playing [Prototype]... Pretty much every weapon is useful against every enemy. While some are more useful than others, I've dropped every enemy using every attack. I've taken down the bosses using all the attacks.

I really enjoyed [Prototype], the combat is fun and fluid, the storyline is batshit-crazy but well told and it's a decent challenge to play. :)

First off questions always end in a question mark, don't they? Secondly, sentences begin with a capital letter. Thirdly, the title should be 'Do you think that Prototype was a good game. The 'that' wasn't as important, but you needed to include 'was'. Fourthly, all sentences end with a full stop. <-- Like that one.

And last but not least, use The Search Button. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.119188?page=1]

This post was apparently written by a 6 year old, but wait, 6 year old's shouldn't be playing violent games!

the game has it`s lacks and problems but it`s fun, it`s a very good anger management tool and you can kill a person in around 10050 ways. just don`t try what you see ingame when walking around the street in real life... it might not work out like u want it to.

You're right. I should clearly have stated my mindset better. There were just times wherein there were too many hunters to keep up with, and just using the standard claws, sword, and fists don't do the job. When I am overwhelmed, wherein hostiles just cornered you in the way, I am forced to use a devastator move or the WhipFist "forcibly" cause i have no more options to take them out faster. You CAN use others, but it just feels tedious than fun.

As for most bosses, I am also forced to use the powerful elbow dive move using the sword (forgot the name of the move) to cut down most health of the bosses, since doing otherwise will just lengthen a repetitive format in fighting bosses in the game.

It would've been better if the bosses are killed or fought differently (like one boss is more fun and easier to fight using the claws, and the other boss's armor can only be destroyed using the fists/clubs). Too bad they only had one type of boss concept (infected ones / biological ones) to continue story plot.

Couple of points:
1. The story is a mess, but the presentation of it is solid.
2. Graphics are totally acceptable.
3. Moving Mercer around is blissfully easy.
4. It's delightfully violent. And strangely cathartic.
5. It's almost exactly like Hulk: Ultimate Destruction in a lot of ways.
6. I enjoyed the shit out of it.
