Yesterday I was playing Killing Floor. Being the last of the team alive I had some preassures to manage to get trough the round (hard, wave 8, 60 Zeds remaining). Due some unfortunate choices I got surrounded between two corridores but it was nothing that me and my 6th level sharpshooter perk with crossbow couldn't handle untill my phone rang.

I couldn't ignore it till the end because the screen was flashing word "Boss" so I killed speakers, stuck the phone between my shoulder and cheek and and started chatting. Trying to survive and answer to the bosses questions about how I like to work under him proved almost fatal to the team.

After I finished the call and the round I noticed my bluetooth handsfree device lying on the board in front of me. This wasn't the first time when incoming call was close to destroy my game, but untill now I never even thought about using handsfree while playing. Mostly because I uasually wear headset all the time.

So how about you? Do you have some software that transmits your calls from your phone into your headset?

Nah. If I get a call...it doesn't really matter.

I'll go answer it. And you know...pause the game.

If it's a multiplayer a game, I'll hide in a corner and hope that my teammates can cover me for a few minutes. I got my "longest life" in TF2 doing that.

I also do that stuff when possible, but it seems that I get phone calls frequently when I'm the last man standing on our team and as thick as my skin is I still don't like to get flamed over VOIP because I received a message to turn oven on.

I would never answer the phone while playing a game :\

or reading, or eating, or exercising, or... pretty much I would never answer a phone unless I specifically wanted to talk to that person right then. I really don't understand where this sort of social convention that you have to answer the phone comes from. it's not like the person on the other end has gone through some arduous task to talk to you, they just hit a few buttons...

I get frequent text messages from my girlfriend while I'm playing a game (and indeed whilst doing a lot of things.) I pause, reply, resume, lather, rinse, repeat as needed until she goes to bed (and she always goes to bed first...I'm usually up until 3 or 4.)

I use a Bluetooth headset for most calls. My neck and shoulder are a little screwed up to begin with, so holding a phone to my ear gets tiresome. Well, more appropriately, the numbness from inclining my neck does.

On Ecks Blah, I use the wireless headset. I sometimes forget the Bluetooth and end up with one on each ear.
