I'd rather we didn't. Developing for new consoles is always expensive, and often the launch titles are shit, with some exceptions (Halo, Resistance, etc.)

I don't know, I just don't have the same anticipation for a new generation that I did for the 360 and PS3 launches.

I really like how the current generation is pushing the limits right now. Since we've pretty much reached the graphical plateau for the foreseeable future, games are focusing more on gameplay and artistic style (again with exceptions).

I'm just sort of content with what we've got.

I don't. I wouldn't be able to keep up. I hope what Microsoft said about their next console, about it arriving in 2015, was true. And I hope the same applies to Sony's next console.

No, not yet anyway. I'm still happy with my PS3, and if the did make a new console I know I wouldn't be able to buy it until the next new console was coming out because they'll probably be expensive as hell.

No, I think Nintendo wants to though. What with the 3DS and the new console they're revealing.

No, because all my friends get paid more than I do and I'd feel left out. New consoles: fuck off for another 5 years or so.

Yeah sure, current gen consoles aren't exactly perfect so why not learn from this gen and put on more polish on next?

Yes. I don't own any consoles but it'd be nice if games took advantage of modern hardware rather than catering to the lowest common denominator (which can be considered ancient by now). Of course that doesn't require a new console generation, but it's not like devs are going to spend even one extra second trying to optimise console games for pc.

EDIT: For the record: current gen consoles aren't even close to reaching any plateau when it comes to graphics.

For now, no. They're more than welcome to start doing development, but if it comes out within the next two years I have no expectations for them to be cost effective or work properly as the last two consoles have been.

I don't want to see a $1,000 PS4 and a broken down Xbox hit the market.

The upgrade will be more than welcomed though, as developers don't need to limit the games as much for consoles.

A new generation so that we can pay about a grand on the console and about a hundred on games? No thanks.

I'm fine without.

Yes console are way behind what my PC can perform so any multi platform games suffer for it.
