That article inspired me to branch out to the internet. In short, do you think makers need to make the next generation?

I don't think so. My 360 has only failed once in the almost 3 years I've had it, so I haven't faced the grunt of the wave. When I go over my friends houses their Wiis aren't that bad. Controls are kinda funny but that's just me. The only thing I've actually difficulty with is my little experience with PS3s, but then again that's just because no one knew how to use it at the time.

Basically, I think the upgrades are fine (as long as they're free) and games keep getting better. This generation could last a few more years.

The longer it is before a new-generation the bigger the jumps in technology will be avaliable and therefore the more value in the upgrades/changes.

Also my wallet says "No, I cannot afford a new generation now".

Overall no. But we should see in the next gen all blu-ray support, if the loading times have been significantlly shortened in a few years, plus better hardware, MS I'm looking at you!

I don't want one. I honestly have no idea how they could make games look or play any better than they are now, but I said the same thing about PS2.

But seriously, I don't think they can get much better than the graphics and technology they have now unless you control real people or holograms or something.

Nope, Wii works just fine. An HD Wii will be even better with motion plus integrated into the remotes. I would like nintendo to give up their boner for requiring every preipheral (except the balance board) to be tethered to the wiimote. The classic controller with a tail is completely silly, just add the ir sensor, bluetooth xmitter, rumble pack and speaker to the controller and be done with it.

I've been saying this before, but I would love for current gaming technology to stand still for a decade or so. And I don't mean just consoles, but PCs as well. When the limits of the current systems are reached (and I don't think they've been reached quite yet at this moment), developers wwill have to shift their focus away from having the shiniest graphics and the biggest explosions and whatnot, which will force them to innovate in other areas. Currently, a huge part of most games' budget is spent on making it look all pretty, and I think it'd be a very good thing if that budget would have to be spent on other areas.

This is what I want in a new XBox:

1. Blu-Ray drive.
2. 8 Gig of RAM dedicated to run the game.
3. 2 Gig of RAM dedicated for graphics.
4. 2 TB Hard Drive.
5. Natal built in.
6. Full Backwards compatibility to the 360.
7. Wireless N built in.
8. Ability to run Windows 7, with USB keyboard and mouse support.
