I do it with a few friends, but I'm not that great at it yet. Don't have many humorous moments, since I'm playing the original Fallout.

I enjoy Chuggaaconroy, DarkSydePhil, and Tobuscus. Oh, and penguiz0 has some pretty funny stuff.

I keep allways eye on older games and games that i have no chance of playing (for example early ps3 game Folklore since i dont have ps3 or any legend of zeldas since i dont own nintendo consoles)

So i have watched everythin from my absolute favorite Chuggaaconroy (seriously he does one of best commentary on LPs i have heard and i have watched... hmm over 500 episodes from others than chugga atleast)

I think will start doing LPs one day...

can you use recording program on your computer to capture screen that comes from other source since my box360 is connected to my computer screen (when downloading something big from steam FIRE UP THE castlevania SOTN 100%project)

I think everyone who is interested in the game, follows atleast ONE Minecraft Let's play by now. I personally follow Seananners (who hasn't released an episode in a while now) and Blue Xephos (New season just started and it is hilarious)

And for the past few months it was my only way to interact with games themselves cause i had exams and couldn't find the time to play games.......but now they're over and I'M FREEEEE!! YOOHOOOO!!!1!1!

I watch them occasionally. My brother absolutely can't understand why anyone would watch a game playthrough. He doesn't understand Devil May Cry combo videos either.

I watch them usually because I don't own the system the game is on. The secondary reason would be for the funny commentary (watch the rage of a person playing I Wanna Be The Guy). If I really could get the game, then I'd be playing it myself. If the commentary is sufficiently funny, I'll watch the Let's Play anyway even after I have the game.

I actually love to watch them for commentary, pyschadelicsnake on youtube is awesome, has the most hilarious horror game commentary! He's doing this new playthrough for "Calling" on the Wii, I'm too scared to play it by myself XD!

I checked it out. There is no commentary! It's just videos of gameplay. I find that to be very boring. If they had included entertaining, or engaging commentary, then i would watch. But not this!

On the other hand, as ppl have pointed out here: it might be useful for info on a game you are not sure whether you will enjoy (if there are no Demos), tutorials (if they are limited or nonexistent in the game), or walkthrough's.
The most interesting suggestion is the ability to check out a game even if you do not own the platform it is on, which i just realized is crucial for KH fans like myself who cannot afford to buy all the portable platform just to keep up with the story.

I bought a DS for the purpose of playing Pokemon and KH 358/2 Days, my brother got a PSP to maintain our Playstation support and play KH BBS (so i have been able to check out the game, and watch the video gallery in the game to see the story cutscenes). Neither of us are going to buy a 3DS just so we can play KH 3D, so this seems like a much better solution than just reading about it on KH wiki. Thanks!

I watch Let's Play's for 2 reasons: either I don't have access to the game (in which case I watch a silent playthrough) or because the commentary is amusing.

Answered this before, but I am willing to opine on it again for the sake of time wasting.

LPs can be cool, but more often than not they are just dorks going "WHAT THE FUCK?" When they take damage or die and I'd rather watch someone kicking ass at a game because it helps my strategy and technique.

Yes, but no. I do a lot of art/computer work and just kind of have it going while I paint or whatever. So most of the watching is when I'm thinking, so there's little of it.

Sometimes I watch gameplay tips just to see if there's something I can do to improve my gameplay and whatever and that does help more than you'd think.

How does someone make LPs? For PC I know that you can just use FRAPS, but for consoles like PS1-2-3 games, I'd like to know so I may begin doing some of my own.

OT: I watch LPs all the time, Its interesting to get peoples reactions and see how they solve puzzles.
