I haven't had cable TV since 2005 when I moved out of my parents house.
That said, I do watch stuff on my TV it's just not from my cable provider.

The only time I'll watch T.V. is during football season. Otherwise, it's just Hulu and Netflix.

I tend to have the TV on for background noise. For example, I have the TV on right now, but I have no idea what channel I have it on. The only time I actually pay attention to the TV when I am playing on my console or watching a DVD.

I have cable but I mostly use the TV to check out the news when I'm bored. That and playing videogames of course.

I never watch TV anymore. There are a few shows that I have interest in watching one day, but it won't be on a TV.

I have the tv on every day. xD
I like watching tv, and I'm not really a show watcher or even a decisive person so regular tv programming will do just fine.
And because I have digital TV, I can just skip through programs I don't like.

Thanks again for taking the time to ease my curiosity, those who have voted and responded.

I guess if nothing else, the results suggest Microsoft's "media hub" emphasis for the XBox One (not to mention the original gating of Netflix behind Live Gold) was probably not the best choice, not that a poll was really necessary to clarify that.

The only thing that is hooked up to my TV is my consoles, I haven't bothered with watching any kind of broadcast stuff in years. All the networks here upload there stuff to their sites right after broadcast so if there is anything I would potentially want to watch I can watch it on when I want to. I tend to watch pretty much everything on my pc and I'm honestly more comfortable sitting at my desk then the couch. My chair is comfy as hell.

I have a smart TV hooked to the net... and that is all. I watch Netflix/YouTube/iPlayer/C4 Player etc on it, or watch DVD/Blu-ray, or play games. I really like the TV though, I just don't have it hooked up to the aerial!

Well... until today I'd probably say no, save for when I have my TV hooked up to my laptop/PS3 to watch BluRays/DVDs/Crunchyroll/what have you...
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... Well I actually do have FXX apparently, so I'm pretty much gonna have the Every Simpsons Ever marathon running in the background for the next 12 days sooooooooooooo... yeah I guess I do still watch TV when the time is right.

Yeah, I try and catch a couple of hours a day - BBC2 and BBC4 usually. BBC documentaries are generally a great watch, regardless of subject matter, and passively absorbing information on a wide variety of subjects while unwinding after dinner is, I consider, actually a good use of my time.

Huh... It seems my television takes up a good chunk of my screen time every day, basically... I mean, I'm currently watching the Every. Simpsons. Ever. Marathon as I'm typing this... I don't have Netflix, Hulu, or any type of streaming service and, if I'm bored of watching whatever is on television at the moment (and I'm not in the mood to play a video game), I pop in a DVD/Blu-Ray into my PS3 and watch that until a specific show is on or something...

Man, I must love to mix the tradition with the modern without succumbing to "Story Sync" or anything that involves using them in tandem to get the "better experience" out of watching [traditional] television... (Plus, the last time I was watching something "socially", it was the Season 4 finale of MLP:FiM...)

I watch a fair few T.V. series, but it's very rare that I will actually watch them on T.V. The last one I did was Arrow, the first 6 episodes, before I just bought the DVD when that came out.

I would tend to lump that in with "...if by television you mean Netflix, Hulu, or a similar service", though I can certainly understand how that might grate if you're personally tracking down what you're watching on an episode-by-episode basis.

Not really these days, maybe something like BBC 1-3 but everything else is purely internet with me, I don't really like Netflix and I can't get Hulu here so I look elsewhere.

I will say though I don't really see the point in TV when the internet is a vast world full of anything you;d like to watch almost anywhere and at any time, you're not forced to time constraints and channel/content locks like you would with cable/TV/Sky and it costs way less.

I only ever really watch TV as secondary entertainment while playing a video game or when my wife wants me to spend time with her.
