Today, I bought a trilby hat. (If you don't know what a trilby is, picture Yahtzee) and this the first time in my life I really thought, "I wanna wear a hat now". I quite like it.
So my question is, do you wear a hat or any other kind of accessory on your head for any reason?

I wear a hairband on occasion. I'd wear them more often but alas my puppy has chewed them all. I need to get a new one on monday. I just like the way they look on me.

Since last year I'm a big fan of the flat cap. And a nice warm ushanka for the winter months. So yeah, I've recently taken to almost always being hatted.

On a rather unrelated note:
Yup, all the time - 33.3% (1)
On occasion - 66.7% (2)
Surely this poll is biased towards the majority vote. I refuse to participate in this mock voting!

If I'm out of the house I wear a hat, it bugs me to no end if I don't. I dislike having my head uncovered (It rains a lot where I live)

Rarely, I have a couple of hats but they don't go with most of the stuff I wear, so if it's really sunny and I happen to be wearing something that goes with one of my hats, I'll wear it, otherwise no.
I do like hats quite a bit though, but they aren't very practical.

I used to wear them often. Now? not much. Back then I was very protective of my hats though.

One time a bully of mine had taken my hat(one of those original red and white pokemon hats) and played a little keep away with it before putting it on his head and walking away, laughing. My response? Fuck no I wouldn't let that fat bastard get away with it, so I flung my lunchbox strap around his neck and used it to climb on his back to retrieve my hat. It was hilarious, kinda like riding a horse, except instead of a horse it was an overweight preteen choking on a lunchbox strap. Let's put it this way: I had a "progressive" method in dealing with my bullies, and as a result, they deemed me way to dangerous to pick on. Never lost another hat to a bully after that.

Anyway, I mostly use hair ties, but other than that I don't really wear much in terms of hats these days. Considering getting an N7 Baseball cap to go with my hoody though.

When the occasion calls for approriate hats to be placed upon my noodle.
Such as: semi to formal functions, weddings ect. Basically anytime I have a waistcoat on, then the hat goes on.
Also firing (Shoveling the coal like a *****, couple tons shoveled in a good day, several if shit coal or heavy train) steam locomotives ^^

I usually wear a Balaclava in the winter to protect my ears from freezing and keeping my head warm.

Also protects your identity from would-be witnesses...

I'm not a hat person. At all. They mess up your hair and are itchy. Thankfully NYC winters are usually mild enough for frost bite to not be a concern on the great majority of winter days.

Just hair ties.

Boyfriends has about 5 hats though.
He's pale as a ghost and has to protect his head.

Would yarmulkes be considered a "hat" or a "head accessory". I mean, they don't serve any sort of utilitarian function, so I'm guessing they're accessories.

I think they're a hat. I saw some that can cover an entire scalp, there's a whole fashion line of those. Then again, you can wear a hat on top of it, so you might have a point.

Glasses. Glasses are cool.

I'll wear a thick hat when it's cold out, or sometimes I just wrap a scarf around as much of my head as humanly possible to keep off sun/rain/snow/etc. Most of the time I go without, though-- unless it's a truly special occasion requiring full redneck regalia, in case of which I keep a variety of otherwise-neglected baseball caps.

Do hoods count as hats? I mean, I wear hats on occasion (I even have a deerstalker I'm rather fond of) but I have my hood up fairly often whenever I wear a sweater or hoodie.

I usually wear a baseball cap around, but that's about it. Maybe a knit cap in the winter

No, my head is hot enough without extra things shoved there. Damn my thick, beautiful hair. It's like constantly having a woolen cloak, scarf and hat on!
Don't need to pretty it up either due to my already mentioned beautiful hair.

*notices cowboy hat in the avatar*

Damn my hair is beautiful.

I wear a hat any time I leave the house. I like broad-brimmed hats because they keep the sun out of my eyes. Not to mention rain and snow. And for those really cold days, I have a genuine Russian rabbit-fur ushanka!
