PC games will always be successful, and what ever piss-poor translation you can see between a 'console first' game which was ported to PC you can always take solice in one fact. At least on the PC, one oddjob pervert will probably try and mod Female nudity into the game some how.

the fact that PC games will ubiquitiously have nudity which is modded in more than makes up for any shortcomings it may have.


PC gaming will never really die because, it is the only 'Adult' platform which doesn't take steps trying to sanatize everything or dumb it down so it is more approchable.

I point to you Valve. Who gives their mods and DLC free to the PC and makes the console players pay extra. They're trying to even the table.

i mostly get games for Xbox because then i don't have to bother with hardware upgrades and firmware updates, true, Xbox games cost a bit more, and the controls are different...

but i have a love/hate relationship with mods, some are genuinely good, but most are run-of-the-mill mods that force you to download 300 .WAV files.

Remember kids, whenever you buy the new multiplayer valve game, "cl_downloadfilter nosounds" is your friend!

Overall, L4D is probably the only game i regret getting for Xbox, the PC servers probably have a mod to make dealing with D-bags easier, or else an admin or two, whereas on Xbox, the system is pretty broken.

That and the easy accessibility of mods and DLC (also free, for the most part!), as well as the overall superior quality of the style of game i like playing (MMORPG, RTS, FPS) have me as a PC guy all the way.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's only a matter of time before the line that separates PC and console gaming disappears completely.

I hope you're right but to me that line can't disappear because consoles are expected to have a 5 year (or more) life cycle. So while the PS4 or xbox 720 might be every bit as good as the computers available when they come out they'll have to fall behind if they last for 5 years or more.

I'm a console gamer with a good bunch of fellow grown ups on my friends list. To me, it's the perfect platform.

PC misses out on some console exclusives and has some other crappy ports from the consoles.

But that works both ways. There are a lot of games exclusive to the PC or that have crappy ports to the console.

Really, there are MORE exclusives on PC that I want to play than on any other console. So as long as I only have money for 1 platform, it will be PC. Especially considering that a mouse allows for far better control than a shitty joystick.

P.S. And I don't know WTF you are talking about when you say PC misses out on content. We get more DLC for a lesser price than the consoles. We also get mods that will probably NEVER get to consoles. Once every blue moon there will be some crappy NVG or other cheap novelty that we can't get but I really don't care about that.

not because you guys suck, you're just not as mainstream and companies can't make as much money off of you. also, parents are much more likely to buy their kids a 299$ game system as opposed to a computer that costs two or three times as much.

true, but it's rants like these that turn us 'stupid pricks' off to pc gamers. yes, every game system is basically a computer, albeit one that's actually meant for gaming and nothing else, but that's sort of the point, isn't it? i don't want to be able to surf the net on my xbox, i have a laptop (laptop=portable) for that.

People generally had better taste in games when the PC was on top. The difficulty of playing said games kept a lot of riffraff and their philistine sensibilities out of the popular oeuvre. Then, there was the Xbox.

I am a bit saddened by the PC's loss of gaming customers (at least legal ones anyway), but I'm at least doing my part. Here's some nice information fer yuh! It only cost me about 140 bucks to make my computer play ANY game. Basically, just upgrade your computer enough so it's a bit better than a 360. You won't have any problems running things. I will NEVER buy a console game again unless it's an Only For or if it's not an FPS but has split screen multiplayer. Everything else I'll just get off Steam. PC games are cheaper anyway. In the end, you probably save money even after the upgrades (especially with Steam).

I believe the bug in Batman:AA is actually an anti piracy measure so you should be fine if you have a legitimate copy . . . unless you're talking about a different bug.

As for the lack of MW2 prestige edition; I have no idea why. Let's face it, the money is in console gaming at the moment. At least we still have Valve, Bioware, Blizzard and Stardock(only ones I'm aware of) looking out for us. . .

however i agree with the earlier post talking about affordability, my home pc is from 2002 and runs half life 1 and stuff like that im not going to buy a super expensive gaming pc for it to become obsolete in a year for three times the price of a console
i will say though that Rts's must be played on a pc and games have slightly to moderately better graphics

After playing CoD4 on 360 and then getting a hard copy of it installed on my dual video card,dual processor setup..I still love PC gaming,but the mainstream is..well 20Million users on Xbox LIVE and the large majority have headsets..no need for separate applications to do voice chat or talk in a party system (just finished some adversarial L4D and using the party chat is a nice feature)

but considering what the 360 offers..the PC version of CoD4 can be optimized for my setup and it looks GOOD..way better graphically and easier to control a FPS using a keyboard and mouse.

I bought FC2 and good gord..I only have a pair of 9800GTs in a PCIEx 1.0 slots..but it looks fantastic.
I also bought C&C Red Alert 3 and its about freaking time they upgraded the visuals. I still remember the pixelated graphics of Tiberian Sun..

Sorry, but I want a machine that can do everything. There are other obvious reasons for me to prefer PC, not to be told here.

I have always been a PC gamer. Sure, when I was young I was in the midst of the Great Console Wars (Sega vs. Nintendo), and I did have some consoles, but in the end, PC always seemed like the better way to go.

I've been playing PC games almost exclusively for years now.
