I remember I had one of those games for the GBA and was totally bad at it. Gave it to my cousins in Russia to play.

Yes, and I remember wanting a Medabot a lot more than I wanted a Pokemon. The GBA games were also extremely fun, a lot more fun than Pokemon actually. Building your own robots and stuff, awesome.
