I really don't see why tap-clicking is enabled by default on laptops. It is so easy to accidentally click on things you had no intention of clicking on. I disable it on all my devices, and if I'm using another person's machine for more than 30 minutes, I ask them if it's alright if I disable it. Sometimes their response is "Oh you can do that? How?".

With so many dangerous links on the internet and in emails these days, it seems like a goddamn security risk to me. I can easily see myself accidentally clicking a link in a spambot post on this site or something on my way to the back button.

Anyway, how many of you use it?

I only use it to accidentally click on things...

It never ocurred to me that I could just disable it. I should do that.

Edit: Disregard this post. Now that I think about it consciously, I notice that I actually do use it.

I use it. I hardly ever misclick with it. As a matter of fact, I'm more likely to misclick on my wireless mouse. The poor thing got old and sensitive from overuse. It's easy to use the touchpad with finger strokes and firm taps. Most the time, I prefer a (fully functional) mouse, though.

I use all my touchpad functions. I used to turn it off as soon as I could, but I found myself going for zooms, scrolls and clicks and making myself sad when I realised it wouldn't work.

I'd really hate my laptop's touchpad without it. You just have to tweak the sensitivity right and it's fine.

I manage fine with mine, I actually get annoyed when I use someone elses laptop and I can't tap to click. xD

I rarely accidentally click on something. If I want to be careful, I'll just drag on the touchpad and use my mouse buttons to click instead.
