Poll: Does anyone remember the first time they ever played doom

I remember coming home from school and my dad had set 2 computers up back to back and was holding a Registered edition of "Doom: Thy Flesh Consumed". I think that was the happiest memory of my life.

Im still playing doom now, i have it on steam as well as original Crystal case edition.

Duke 3D is the better game in virtually every regard, but Doom holds a special place in my heart. I will ALWAYS play Doom again yet the same cannot be said of Duke. I do indeed remember the first time I played the game - it was in late 1993 and a friend had secured a copy of the Shareware version of the game on a couple of 3.5" discs. I played the shareware version of the game dozens of times over the course of the summer. It wasn't until several years later that I actually got the full retail edition of the game.

Since those early days, I have purchased Doom for SNES, Windows 95, Xbox 360, Gameboy Advance and, most recently, the complete collection on Steam.

I used to play Doom 2 on my mum's friends computer whenever she brought me along with her to his house. Ah, the sweet complacent childhood years.
