Poll: Does Anyone think Homefront will be a good game?

I imagine anyone who thinks Homefront is terrible because of its plotholes and "implausibility" must think Fallout is a big pile of dog shit.
I think this is what it will be myself. Some people need to let their hair down and realize they are probably making a video game, not a documentary on how to invade the US. In a game like Homefront, I don't want all the little details. They got it close enough so that my suspension of disbelief can kick in and take over.Outright Villainy said:

Actually if people would go and read all the backstory, it is fairly plausible. A lot of people seem to think that the United States in the game is the same United States as we now are. According to the backstory it is a United States faced with no budget, no economy, it lives under martial law, there was a huge pandemic of a mutated avian flu strain and generally its falling apart (20 dollar a gallon gas). At the same time North Korea has been building itself a nice little empire (reunited with South Korea, owns Japan and a few other areas) and has good trade relations with China and Russia. It comes down to a very geopolitical conflict between ideals and who has or does not have resources, and what people are willing to trade.

For many of you asking, "But what about Canada, Europe, etc.etc.., why ain't they helping?" Well because if you've been paying attention - nearly everybody is hurting. Pak/Iraq/Iran/Saudi area is in a full scale war - driving up the cost of oil. Europe (over all) and the USA is in deep deep recession due to oil costs and an over all general failure of the banking system.
The USA retreats what left of its remaining active military (operable resources) back to the states to deal with its internal problems; looting, massive unemployment, people doing what ever it takes to survive. Thus most of the expensive hardware is shut down, leaving our Military with the basic of the basics, troops and weapons and simple cargo transports. Perhaps some APC and tanks.
The UN is resolved and thus there no longer exists a global "strongly worded letter police" and its everybody out for themselves.
Some time in the next 15 years, Unified Korea & vassal Japan perfects the EPM bomb and launch a few into space (guiesed as a communications satellite), detonating them over the USA, destroying most of whats left the electroics infrastructure within the USA.
There is also something about a nuke in Hawaii, but hell, why not
So there one major logical hurdle - the perfect unification of NK & SK in the timeline of only a few years.
As for the China bit.. Perhaps China only thought that helping NK/SK that Korea would grow into its local territory, say Japan and other states - but not become a direct threat to them [China] but then by the time they realise they've created a monster, they are powerless to really stop them short of a full out war. So does China risk a full out war with growing Korea, or does China let Korea do its thing as long as itself is not directly threatend by Korea.

The main thing that repels me in this game is the fact that its another scenario where the great American heroes must fend off againts all odds. Primerly on account America seamingly can't get over itself, every single shooter these days has to have Aryan Superman rambos troting back and forth being the " last hope for this great nation". Like Yahtzee I'm puzzled as to why anyone would want to invade America? All you'll get out of the deal is some McDonalds and a full blown tact nuclear strike shot by some Republican maniac president going " if WE can't have it nobody will!"
Secondly it seams most FPSes that have that theme come out sortof half-baked, as if the developers concluded " well its America being a hero again, that means every redneck and there inbred kid in the States will buy it so lets just stop right there." The plot makes no sense, the shooting gets repetative and monotonous, the chalange slope usually stands still in the same spot.
Hey maybe Homefront WILL suprise me, maybe it WILL have outstanding gameplay, but then again maybe I WILL find a box full of cash and stripers on my lawn today.

I just think it looks like another modern war game. Oddly my friend who once liked them but started to dislike all war FPS games after Modern Warfare 2 is very much pumped for this...despite them looking near identical. If anything I keep hearing the multiplayer is a solid package, but I still haven't heard anything about the campaign which is worrying.
Plus any game that the US are the heroes is an instant downer for me. I have no beef with the US, it's just they're made to look like the the heroes in every single war game ever. USA IS DOMINATE!

In refernace to Joe above me, its very ironic considering the US never gone to war where odds were remotely stacked evenly ( let alone againts them) and more time than not US goes to war over cunty reasons. There last heroic Deed was WW2 and even back then they just showed up for D-day pretty much, and now they save Europe, Fighting the Wbul atheistic regeme of Hitler ( Got mitt unst) its like playing Chinese whispers. In a decade or two USA's marine corp will order Cpt.American spandex outfits.
From what I've seen, it looks really unpolished and generic. And the "shock and awe" of America being invaded was already done in Modern Warfare 2.
