Poll: Does Borderlands need a loot system?

1) Do you think this game needs a loot system?
2) Have you encountered a situation that would have been fixed with a loot system?

Have you been playing online with friends or with strangers? What has your experience been with each group?

It hasn't been a problem for me, but i've been playing with friends. We're all different classes and have different proficiencies. =]

No.
We divide the items on an I need basis.
Whoever uses the specific gun the most gets it. Same for ammo.
For example, my friend who plays as Mordecai gets to decide if he wants a sniper or not. We agree, if the sniper is better than his current.
Lilith gets the first choice on SMG's, too.
It's quite easy.
