Does death scare you? everybody ive ever asked has said theyre either scared of death or afraid of retribution afterwards, which in my opinion means your afraid of death but people like to be specific.
Personally, after being hit my cars, being stabbed, street fighting, having years of brutal nightmares and having sections of my body ripped open nd some other crap which i dont wanna divulge, i lack a fear of death and im told im cold. but meh, i was just curious, i just dont understand peoples fear. i tend to find death itself comforting. confirmation of an ending.
So since we are all anonymous i was hoping youd open up and tell me and i suppose others reading if your afraid of death, or an aspect of death and why.

No, not really, I don't fear my own death.

I do fear the death of those I love.

No, Not Really, Death is Death, Life cannot exist without Death as some our our body cells have to die or else we would have four million fingers etc. Anyway if I do die and go to Hell I'll probably just tell God some witty retort to get me into Heaven. If that shit even exists

Seeing how I don't believe in the afterlife I don't fear death.

I do, however, fear dying.

I ain't gonna lie, it terrifies me. At the same time though, I accept it. No matter what you do, you are going to die, the only thing you have influence on is how and when, and you know what they say, you can either go out on you feet or on your knees.

Death doesn't scare me. It's getting there that horrifies me. And I fear the death of those I care for.

I find the thought of life only lasting for a century give or take a few decades, followed by nothing, nothing, and more nothing, to be disturbing. Oh well. I'll probably come to terms with my own death when the time comes. To think that life is just a brief flash in a pitch black void.

Also, apparently, there's still a few minutes of brain activity after death, where the dead person is, mentally, in a world of their subconscious creation. So for some people that could be heaven/hell, or some long, fucked up dream.

No, I don't fear death, nor do I fear and retribution afterwards most because I don't believe there is any retribution afterwards. Personally, I fear life much much more then death. Death is a certainty; life, not-so-much.

It's inevitable really so why fear it? I only hope that my death will be the most epic death ever, preferable in a huge fireball of some sort.

No. More people have died than are alive today. Death is the norm. We're just so sheltered from it in Western society today that it freaks people out. I just accept it. I presume that there is no afterlife, no reincarnation, that it's just the end, which doesn't scare me, because I won't be aware of it after it happens. It's the end. Better to accept the inevitable.

Actually, Yes I'm terrified of it.

My existance, my mark on this world, my memories, my goals and ideals... disappearing...

It scares me shitless. I'm not going to lie, and act all 'manly' about it, as I've seen in the polls, Death is a scary thing I'd only accept death after I've lived a long life and even then I'll be more reluctant. You may call that cowardice, but I frankly don't give two shits, I will do my best to live on, as long as it's possible, then maybe a little more then that.

The fact that everything I know will continue when I'm gone, frightens me. I've spent a lot of time think how I'll see the world without me in it, and whenever I realize that I won't see it, I get a terrible feeling in my stomach. This is the reason I believe in an afterlife, despite not being part of a specific religion.

Yes, I can be very paranoid. I feel like I'm going to either die young or before I've accomplished everything I want to.

Yes, I'm scared of death because it's the unknown, and fearing the unknown is in human instinct. We don't have any idea what not existing is or feels like. The thought of not existing and everything going on without us is totally abstract, which is why religions say that afterlife is another plane of existance, because that's all we can use as a placeholder. I think that the fear of death is not so much death itself, but fear that we could end up meaning nothing in the long run, like a grain of sand on a beach, that scares us.

Well, Me, anyway.

Not exactly "scared" of it, but I don't want it to happen. I do accept it because it IS going to happen though. I just... I don't want to miss things, you know, everything that happens after i'm gone... I wanna see it.

So I guess yeah, I suppose I am scared of it after all.

Personally no it doesnt as the above post said I'm not scared but I don't necessarily want it, it's going to happen to all of us at some point and really there ain't jack shit I can do about it so when it's my time, it's my time. Hell I even have a few friends that I'm willing to die for, they are my family and I'd protect em with everything I had rather they know it or not.

Hell yes. The idea of the universe continuing on forever without me is horrifying. I honestly wish I was able to be religious, that I could delude myself enough to fully believe in some sort of eternal afterlife so at least I would have some small comfort.
The only reason I work out and eat healthily is for the small chance that I will survive long enough for immortality to be achieved either through gene upgrades or mechanical means.
and you think they'll give it to you. (or any other not filthy rich)

Yes, because it's death.

Anyone who can view it as "you're born, you die" is cold indeed.

I'm also scared of the fact that there's nothing, although I accept it. Those who can't accept it are, well, religious mostly.
