If he does, someone should smack him around a bit.

7 years cold turkey, man there are dozens of programs that cost money that can't get that result.

No - after all that time his body wouldn't feel the need to have it any more.

Amiright?

If a smoker wakes up after a 7 year coma, does he want a cigarette?
Of course not! 7 years in a coma and his body will have passed out all residual nicotine and he will have lost his dependance on it.

From the thread title, I thought the correct answer was "look like a *****?" After which point I would quote the entire conversation from Pulp Fiction.

depends on if you go through the withdrawal stuff during the coma, BTW OP if you want to quit there are slightly less drastic programs out there.

It's likely that he would want a cigarette on a habitual level -- for instance, if he were to always smoke after a cup of coffee -- but there won't be an nicotine addiction after seven years of involuntary detoxification.

I believe he'll probably need to learn to function again.

Waking up from a coma is nothing like the movies y'see.
FINALLY... someone else who realises the the serious afects of a coma... ITS NOT LIKE A LONG SLEEP ITS LIKE LYING STILL FOR AGES AND SLOWLY LOSING CONTROL OVER YOUR BODY... the concise is mostly active during comas...
and in reply the the topic... no
his brain would have kicked the habit by itself though he would have felt going through the cold turkey experience

Yes.
It's as much the force of habbit (psychological addiction) as the bodys craving for niccotine (physical addiction) that drives smokers to smoke.
At least thats true for me and most smokers i know who i have talked about smoking with.

Though i guess the lack of physical addiction will make it easier to not smoke, especially considering that the docter might tell him his body is too weak to handle it.

Wouldn't you was a cigarette?
Huh? Do you want to know if I was a cigarette? What do you mean with that?
I have no idea. That's what the OP says.

EDIT: Lol, looks like he changed it. But that's what it said before.

Well yes, but smoking becomes a very hard habit to pass. My aunt smoked since she was 11 and gave up when she was 23, not 9 years later she is going through a rough spot in her life and found herself once again drawn to smoking.

Apologies for the confusion, I shall promptly go beat myself with a typo stick =P

No, I'd imagine a smoker would be more enthusiastic about snaring and devouring humans than cigarettes. Particularly if it'd been dormant for that long.
