While going through all the threads today I noticed all the repeat threads, most of them seem to do better then the predecessors and some fail to do say. Then as I look at the post counts of all the authors I start to wonder does the author of the thread really matter? If two people post the exact same thing at the exact same time which one is going to be more successful? One person with a considerable amount of posts under their belt. The other who just started today.

Who's to say that this thread itself gets copied tomorrow by a guy with the Neo badge, will it be more successful than this one because you've seen that guys face before? Which brings up the question, does the author really matter in a situation like that?

EDIT: After 30 minutes and almost falling to the second page I'm going to say that that's a yes.

EDIT: In an attempt to start more discussion. What would you say can hook other people into look at your forum?

personally, it doesnt matter. Most likely it matters based on grammar, and the post of the other people on the thread.

I'm only really put off if the author has an obnoxious picture of themselves as their avatar or no avatar at all.

Oh and I was kind of hoping this thread was going to complaining about those pulp fiction books that have the author's name bigger than the title...

I don't even pay attention to the author, just the topic and tone of the introduction of the thread.
