My friend made me watch The Hard Times of RJ Berger last night and the characters on that show are supposed to be sophomores in high school, but all the actors look way older than that! Gah! I have this same problem with any Tv show/movie about high schoolers. Does it bother any of you guys too? Or am I crazy?

This is nothing new. Twenty-somethings have been playing high (or even middle)-school kids in TV shows and films for years now, and while it makes it highly questionable, I'll judge it on whether they actually play the part well or not (though to be honest, they mostly don't).

To an extent it bothers me, it doesn't help teenagers with their self-esteem issues when fully developed adults are portraying them in TV and movies. I understand the legal reasons that this often has to be the case, so I guess until that is changed we won't see this change.
