I see nothing wrong with the add, after all how many people were acting in complete accord with their gender role/stereotype when they were five?

I didn't notice the painted toes considering I was too busy thinking about how he's floating in the air.

I'm probably the wrong/worst person to comment on gender confusion (pretends to be a girl in MMOs to get free gear) but I don't see a problem with this. Lots of dudes got there finger/toe nails painted when they were younger or had their hair in a pony tail at one point. Its just something that happens when you have older females around young boys.
PONY TAILS ARE MANLY!!!ONEONEONE

No, I don't and common! Let the kid wear pink tutus if he wants! :D

I'm so glad that my parents didn't do that to me. Because deep down, you can all admit, the only reason you're straight is because you're parents raised you to be straight. And those of you who are gay...your parents...wait...DID SHIT LIKE THIS! Because there has never been a family who thought their son/daughter/brother/sister was straight only to find out they were gay. And there have never been super fantastic parents who are furious and outraged that their kid is gay. FUCK PINK NAILPOLISH!

Yes, that boy is clearly an autumn, and needs a darker color of nail polish.

Also where is the husband to overreact?
This.

But in all seriousness I find it kind off sad that gender-identities have been reduced to such a level that they are threatened by some nail polish.

Every kid does something screwy at a young age like that they have been for decades. Little kids (including boys) getting into mommies make up? I think just about every child has been in that boat between the ages of 2-5.

All joking aside, the ad is stupid. I can't help be get the feeling they were trying to get under people's skin and get the J-Crew brand name mentioned for free.

I'm not ignorant enough to think the little boy is going to catch they gay because his toe nails were painted. I think pretty much every little kid did something like that, boy or girl. But J-Crew knew someone would throw a hissy fit.

Seriously?
Claiming that this is some sort of propaganda/conspiracy is crazy! Young boys have been wearing dresses, playing with dolls, and painting their nails for ages. It's nothing new, and it's not harmful in any way. Some people be crazy.
BTW, since it makes my gf happy I let her paint some of my nails sometimes. Does that make me gender confused? Don't think so.
Besides why shouldn't guys wear nail polish or dresses? What's wrong with that? We've already done away with gender roles, sorta, so why not continue along that path? I say that it's time for the male liberation movement to start! Though I am perfectly happy without wearing a dress or makeup..........

So... did that Trident Commercial where the little girl dresses up her little brother in make-up cause this gender confusion bull as well? I can't be bothered to look into it right now.

The kid is pre-sexual. Painting his toenails, let alone painting them a particular color or another, isn't going to make him gender confused.

There is no real controversy, just people being knee-jerky over gender issues.

I didn't even notice his toes until I read the post fully, so I would imagine that says quite a lot.

No, it's not problematic at all. 'Gender confusion' is just either a refusal to accept the role that society has arbitrarily assigned you based on your chromosomes, or innocent exploration as a result of having a perfectly natural sense of curiosity. Saying there's something wrong with this picture cause the boy's nails are pink is like suggesting that there's a problem with transvestisism. And there isn't, as far as I'm concerned.

I thought the kid was a girl. Man, guys these days and their female like haircuts, ugh.

As for the controversy? What controversy? All I see are people complaining about the color pink. And as we all know: REAL men wear pink! *Heroic stance*

I didn't even notice her painting his toes, I thought she was just tickling him until I read the OP's post.

Honestly the reasons people come up with to claim that things are controversial. IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!

Besides the first impression "holy shit is she about to kiss that kid?!" no not really
Lol, this.

Eh, the got rid of Ernie and turned the cookie monster into the Veggie monster, so whiny parents can get whatever they want, especially if it makes no sense.

I see nothing wrong with this image. The kid is to young to have a sexual orientation figured out, (Straight, homosexual and what have you) let alone be gender confused. There is nothing wrong with that.
People who think about kids sexually are very unhappy about pictures like this.

It's actually a pretty good lure. You find out who is offended then send Chris Matthews after them.
