Let's say you are writing a resume.
Now let's say that your former job "organization" received an excellent award in the past. Yet you were told by the top leader within this organization (at the time) that only those worked between X and X dates were those who truly qualified to claim the award due to their direct involvement.
Yet, I was still a part of this group whenever the org was announced as the winners.
If I were to put on my resume "that my organization won the Blank Blank Award" would that be lying on my part?
