I have just recently discovered the wonder that is Twitter (don't worry, this is going somewhere), and I am still 'finding my feet' as it were - trying to find my voice.
I decided that perhaps I should scour my picture databases to find something to talk about and began with that most base of instincts - the internet meme. Joseph Ducreux, in case you were wondering. Still, I felt somehow dissatisfied with my work and continued to look for something a little more...personal.
After a few moments perusing my eye fell on this. (which brings us to the topic at hand)
This is a picture, taken several months ago, of my dog, "Bob". As you can see, he has just been given a rather large treat, which he proceeded to messily destroy over the course of the following few hours. I took this picture, however, due to the fact that he just looked so. damned. SAD. Literally seconds after giving him this present I began hurrying to the treats cupboard (yes, he has a whole cupboard for his treats) to find him something to perk him up!
As I unwrapped the bag of doggy chocs, sanity dawned on me and I realised what I was doing - somehow I had been brainwashed by this hound and his disarmingly despondent expression. This is one of many incidents where he has been given treats for no reason at all, or even escaped punishment for doing the most terrible things due to his amazing ability to give the - to coin a phrase - 'puppy dog eyes'.
I am a teacher and police officer in training, and yet I am unable to discipline an insolent terrier...
Now I have the hankering to talk about pets, so naturally I came straight to my favourite discussion forum...a gaming site. Where else to find fellow animal enthusiasts?
Well done for making it this far in my post - we now finally come to the discussion value!
1 - Does anyone else here share my weakness for animals that certainly excels the amount of emotion I reserve for my fellow human beings? (I am no misanthrope, I just really like animals!)
2 - The poll. Who else here owns pets? Why not share some tales(or should that be tails? Ho ho...) and/or pics?
I am quite aware of the fact that the thread title does not appear to match the tone of my post, but in fact it describes it perfectly. I know full well that pets are merely master manipulators and god knows I want to break free from their spell, but I am too weak willed to resist those flappy ears and fluffy tails. Damn those adorable creatures to hell!
-Mod edit: Please don't plug your twitter account here. Use your profile. Thanks!
