PC will probably be better, because from what I heard Origins was a better tactical game on the PC and the combat system doesn't seemed to have changed much from Origins to 2.

I've only played the first game on the 360, but the combat got a major overhaul on consoles, it's now played more as an action RPG which I felt was the way to go for consoles.

So, PC will probably be better overall, but the console version will be great in its own right.

PC as I think playing the mage would be alot more enjoyable with a mouse aiming. Also, I like to play the game pausing frequently so I can think what to do. The controls feel alot more natural for that on PC.

Also user custom content would be easier to apply on the PC version. You know, custom skins, fixing imperfections... changing the sexual orientation of a character *cough* anyway...

For me, PC.

I'm going to play it on the correct platform.
Do you really have to get snobbish about this? Really?
I think he was just being a smartass, not a snob. It's well known by now that Dragon Age (the first one at least) was designed primarily as a PC game. Honestly, I still have trouble comprehending how it was even playable on consoles.

Regardless, I hear Bioware put some good effort into giving a different combat system for the console versions so good on them for that.

Well, I've played both the 360 and PC demos, and I can safely say this. Both are awesome, but the PC version is more like a more fast-paced version of Origins, while the console version is just completely different, and just a lot more action-based. Even on medium settings (why can't we set it to high, dammit?!) it looked fantastic on my rather modest machine, but I honestly just preferred the control setup (and the ability to play from my couch and on a big-screen TV...) that the console version offered. I'll be getting it on 360 first, then maybe the ultimate edition on PC when it comes out.

Oh, and I saw the ps3 version today at a friends house, no noticeable difference between that and the 360 one.
On the PC change your renderer to Direct X 11 and you can put on high. If you have DirectX 11 and a setup that is built for 11 you can set it to very high. Just mouse over it on the options screen and it will tell you all that.

I've seen shemale and strap on mods man... the horror... I think they use the same stuff but the controls for PC are optimised for a mouse and keyboard while the console versions were built to play with controllers, ability wheel and such like mass effect.

PC definetly

that said though can anyone tell exactally what the differences are in regards to the console version being more action orientated? like do you induvidlly hit the button for each attack?

because to be honest hitting the heal button over and over hopinng not to die was not really my thing

There is a console (I think Xbox) live play that's about 30 mins long if you want to take a look. Mild spoilers but it's a sidequest not a main story quest. You've been warned though.

OT: PC because I've been waiting for my Signature edition for almost 2 months now...

PC all the way, coz a console is damn expensive where I live, aswell as the game. Also, I did try a console controller once or twice, felt severely awkward. I feel that the keyboard and mouse fit me perfectly.

Yes, unfortunately they have twisted the game so that the correct platform is now one with a controller.
IMO any RPG that doesn't positively require a mouse and keyboard just isn't trying hard enough.

well i'm getting it for pc for sure, but i probably will use a controller for it, i just prefer my snap functions and comfortableness of a controller , especially if i'm going to be playing it the the more hack and slash way.

This is stupid. Stop thinking that all PC games automatically come with a whole databse of mods that all work and add genuinely good content. I've barely modded any PC games in my whole gaming carreer. Mods are sort of a nice addition for SOME games, but not necessary.
I'm not talking about things like full-fledged campaigns made by some guy adding to the story, while those are nice and all, the real thing is console commands to tweak the game to your liking, INI modding, new texture packs and even community bug fixes or restoring old content.

Console games can't ever match that.

And if you have only modded a handful of games.. either you're playing the wrong games or you're missing out on a lot of great stuff. And that is what's stupid.

No mod toolset this time
The only game with modtools Bioware ever made were DA and Neverwinter Nights. ALL of the their games have mods. Not full stories or big additions, but tweaks and useful or interesting changes at the very least.

KOTOR 2 doesn't have mod tools, but there's the full content restoration mod was still mod.

STALKER doesn't have mod tools, yet they made the COMPLETE edition, a major overhaul.

Mass Effect 2 doesn't have mod tools, yet I can pick up party members in any order I please and get weapons that drop off enemies.

No mod tools just doesn't mean much, sorry.

If my craptop would run it then Id go for the PC, but since it wont Im gonna playing it on my xbox.
And its nice to hear that the gap between the platforms has closed, I was majorly pissed off that I had to skip the 1st one due it being "crap on consoles".

I WAS going to pre-order it for PC, but I don't think I could have been more underwhelmed by the demo if it had spat at me.

Bland environments, a pointless (and I think less attractive) art style, suggestions that its leaning more towards a hack and slash than the (relatively) tactical combat of DA:O (dunno if its coz of the console thing, but... the demo was linear, enemies were pouring in from off camera, it was dreadful). Even though the spells and abilities were largely similar, I didn't feel:
i) That much progress had been made (they actually seem to have cut spells out...)
ii) That they had any consistency with the previous game.

Combat was a mess, it was difficult to see what was going on, and misclicks sent my characters sprinting across the other side of the room.

Mostly minor stuff, but when they got it so right the first time...

I'll be playing DA2 on my 360 because my PC was cheap, and wouldn't be able to run the game. Plus, I played DA: O on my 360, so I'm familiar with the control layout 'n stuff. Lastly, I prefer getting into RPGs on my 360 'cause my bed is comfy, unlike this office 'n chair.

Speaking of, I should really download the demo and try it out.

Well, yeah, that's what we PC gamers do.
It was meant tongue-in-cheek, really. Unfortunately that seems not to come through very well in text.
