So, with the release of Dragon's Dogma looming on the horizon, I'm having more and more of a hard time keeping the saliva inside my mouth. So in celebration: which class(es) are you planning to play as if you pick up the game?

One thing that I really enjoy about what I've seen of the classes is that they are all fairly varied, but they all are very appealing, at least to me. Whereas in most RPGs I would never really want to play a mage-type class, here they seem just as appealing to me as most of the other classes. I'm not sure why this is, but I just thought that was kind of interesting.

Personally, I will probably focus on the Strider class. I love agile characters, and I tend to be a bow user, so this seems like it will fit me pretty well.

EDIT: This is a bit off-topic, but I just noticed that there is a typo on the Dragon's Dogma website... on their downloads page, the "Sorceror Pack" is a weensy bit incorrect. Anywho.

Going for the agile classes for my first character, might chuck in a bit og magic in there.

After playing with the character creator, I'm very confident that I can make my Pawn look like...

Well I certainly intend to try them all but for the first playthrough i'll probably go with pure Mage. I'm loving all the gameplay i've seen of it so far and many of the spells look like a great deal of fun to use, what with the giant pillars of ice and tornados they throw all over the place. It's a shame you couldn't play one in the demo.

Ah yes, totally forgot about pawns. Mine will most likely be a Mystic Knight.

And Vergil is pretty BA.

I'm hoping I can have a greatsword and a bow. Any news on that happening?

...Guess I need to look up some info about this game. Ranger is one class I do enjoy playing at times in RPGs, though Hunter is more correct. I like looser morals (not evil, though).

It's odd that I love using bows in RPGs, but absolutely detest snipers and sniper rifles. But there is still the thrill of conflict with bows, at least.

I was very impressed with the archer type the demo stuck you with for the griffin battle. I usually don't use rogues but that might have changed my mind. I'll have to wait to get it though. kinda broke atm.

I... don't think so. I'm pretty sure that the only class that can use two-handed weapons (excluding bows) is the Warrior, and they are pretty powerful as it is. I honestly think giving them bow use would be making them a little bit too multi-functional.

Rogue looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun!! So Archer/Dual-wielding Rogue for my main and caster for my pawn!
I really want to see the leveling mechanic and NPCs interaction before I make up my mind about buying this game though.
