Yes, this thread is based of the recent footy match between the Saints and Collingwood.

It was the grand final and it ended up in draw, so they are repeating the same game next week and many people find this is irritating.

One side of the argument: A lot of people came down to see that match from all over Australia and won't be able to see the next game (the real final we hope) for what ever reasons. They say the game should of just been extended.

Other side of the argument: It was an amazing game any way and now we get to see another amazing final.

What do you think? If you came from long distance to see a final that wasn't really a final, would you be satisfied even if it was a great game? Do you reckon they're just whining? How long should they extend it for?

I believe they should of extended it for another 30mins or till one team makes the next point.

It should've been extended. But rules are rules. Maybe this'll convince them to change them though.

As bad as it makes me feel when Collingwood doesn't win, and another match next week is going to be painful to watch, I'd rather lose next week than lose in extra time.

Although winning would be even better :p

I thought it was standard for a small extension and then off into penalties, unless you're talking about some other sort of Football.

I thought they should've just extended it. Seemed pretty unnecessary to hold another game, although I'm not complaining. It's awesome that we get to watch another grand final. They held another game the last time this happened, right? In 1977. So it makes sense that they'd stay consistent.

Yeah, it's Australian football. We should have the same standard really.

I hate AFL, but I sat down and watched the last quarter, and this whole thing is basically nonsense. Looking at the faces of both teams, they were clearly just exhausted, they'd put a lot of preparation into the match, and now they have to go through it all again. The fans were miserable too. The only people in that stadium that were happy about having to have a second match were whichever company profits off ticket sales. Imagine if they sell tickets to the next match how much those will go for. The whole rematch thing might be a rule, but it's a bad one. I just feel sorry for those people who went to the match, but won't be able to go to the rematch, like people that flew in from interstate for example. That must just suck balls.

Saints vs Collingwood?

They should have decided it by counting which side's supporters had the least number of mullets.

Be a close count.
This is the best idea i have heard all day.

In the event of a tie in mullets (quite possible with Saints V Pies), they could see which side's fans had the least number of spelling errors in their tattoos.

If that proves inconclusive, then the final arbiter shall be the least number of Southern Cross tattoos.

Should a result still be unobtainable at that time, the Grand Final shall be awarded to the team that has never won a grand final or, should no such team exist in the future, the team which has the least number of grand final wins (for equal numbers, team that has gone the longest without a win gets extra weighting for the decision).

Yeah, that's right, I'm saying they should just give the flag to Fremantle. Only way they're gonna win one in the foreseeable future.
