It doesn't make much sense... unless the trick is a drive-by!
OK, I'm sorry. To be honest I've never done trick or treating, since I live in a country which typically doesn't, in a tiny, tiny village which is close to nothing.
That is pretty damn stupid. Wouldn't it require more effort to open the car door, close the door, walk around the car, walk up to the house, and then walk back to your car and drive up a few feet? It would be even more hysterical if they turned off the car every time before they got out. But at least that person is trick-or-treating. I've only had one person come to my house asking for candy all day. After that I walked around my neighborhood and noticed that no one was trick-or-treating at all. Halloween seems to be dead in my town

It's an awesome repeating cycle. You get one bad year of trick-or-treating in your neighborhood where people go out or whatever, and then all of a sudden you're "the place with no candy" and you don't have to deal with them anymore. We didn't get one single trick-or-treater. I actually heard one kid on the street say "I don't want to walk all the way up that driveway".
