also, when you die from a house fire it's mostly the gases that kill you as opposed to the burning, so it's technically suffocation rather than burning.RamirezDoEverything said:

As someone who has nearly drowned and technically died from it (had to be revived) , I can say it's not all that bad to be honest. Sure you panic at first but eventually the lack of oxygen calmes you down, you sort of just stop caring and then pass out. not really that bad of a way to go really. I can imagine burning to death being very painful.
How would I wanna die? As Nico Belik said: "Having a threesome on my 100th birthday."

Tough choice, but I'd go with burning. I've heard that after a few seconds of intense pain, the pain receptors on your skin would be incinerated, and you wouldn't even feel the latter stages. Drowning, on the other hand, is probably one of the most terrifying ways to die.
As an aficionado of both, I recommend burning, carbon monoxide poisoning to be exact.
Drowning is not quick, all it is is suffocation while learning the extent of helplessness and despair a human could feel, not to mention the feelings of loneliness and cold.
Fire, on the other hand, has the potential to kill in many different ways, most painful, some not. But at least you won't be cold.

One of my greatest fears is that I would die drowning, so I'm going burning. Just the feeling that no matter how much you struggle to stay afloat eventually your strength will fail you and you will die helplessly in a state of panic makes drowning scare me a lot.

Depends on how I'm going to burn doused in flamible liquids or meres tied to a stake. I'd take doused and set on fire over drowning you'd die very quickly and would only be conscience for the first couple of seconds before your nervous system would overload making you pass out. A few seconds of pain sounds better than minutes of being unable to breath I've had that sensation before and it is one of the worst feelings in the world.
Now being burned at the stake type of burning would be the worst your slowly being cooked and wouldn't die for some time and would remain conscious until you probably died of smoke inhalation or the fire had burned a large portion of your bodym so it would be slow and extremely painful.

Burn to death. Think of the movie scenes I could recreate. Who has ever drowned in a memorable cinematic way?
Hmmmm.... To me, death in water would be much less pain than burning... Because, when you burn, you burn for a while and drowning with take about a few minutes. only clogging in your throat, so....meh.
