Would you love to see a dungeon keeper clone?

I mean DK 1 and 2 were fantastic games in their day, i loved them. Especially multiplayer. But sadly the games don't run and are so dated.

But i was looking for free games the other day and saw clones of popular games, theres a Simcity clone, a Transport Tycoon clone a Doom clone etc these games are very similar if not identical to the games they are copying.

Why has nobody made a DK type game or cloned it? I'm no programmer, but i'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard to make. the hardest would be the 3D for when you posses a minion.

I don't particulary like fantasy settings. I'd rather see an Evil Genius clone.

[small]Not of the Genius himself - of the game, mind you. Or maybe sequel.[/small]

Well basically it is because a lot of these already exist in the form of free flash games

I still play Dungeon Keeper two, mostly on single player, but I really enjoy them. I'd love to see a remake or another sequel, sadly not gonna happen, because I enjoyed playing with other people.

Let me just direct you towards Dwarf Fortress. Sure you might not be an evil underlord, and you might not be fighting valiant yet foolish heroes, and you definitely won't be poking imps around, but mittens made from kittens, biscuits made from booze and dropping goblin prizoners from a height to break their limbs and then flooding them with magma is worth looking into.

This.

I too once longed for a new 'Dungeon Keeper' esq game, looking far and wide and with every passing day feeling more and more saddened by how this once-proud genre of game has fallen into complete obscurity. A darkness overcame me, and my life spiraled downwards steadily as my obsession grew (Slightly exaggerated!).

Then I found Dwarf Fortress, and all was right in the world again. The clouds parted, angels sang, and I was free to experience happiness once again.

Go, my child, and Google the name Dwarf Fortress. If not for my sake, then for your own...

Did ou know Dungeon Keeper 3 is being developed, as an MMO that will only see release in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. I wish I was joking about that.

And yes I would love to see a DK style game being released, they were great games and I can't think of anything that's even vaguely similar to them.

Yeah i did, was there on Kotaku when it was announced, i did end up punching a cow in pure rage. EA have said that they know a fan base for DK still exists and that we "would have to see what happens".

Yeah, as far as I know Keeper Klan [http://forum.keeperklan.com/] are working on a clone of DK1, as well as a sequelish thingy called "War for the Overworld". The models and the concept art look awesome, but they seem to have a lack of of programmers and a few engine troubles :p
