Ok, i have a dilemma, i'm thinking of buying on the PS3 1 of those two games called:
Dynasty Warriors 6
or
Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires

i've been reading reviews, looking at gameplay videos etc. mostly, i want this game so that i can play it with my older brother, but i like games that when finished can be replayed alot again (thinking of SW Battlefront2 for example).

but i can't decide which is more worthy...

Neither, the DW games are all the same anyway, so you play one you played the rest of them.

I have no idea.

I hear DW games are pretty much all the same. There not bad games but I hear you should just only get one.

Actually get Empires because it sounds like a slight upgrade to regular DW6.

well 1 thing i kinda like on that one, is that you can make your own character from scratch, which is a good point!

Then I say go for that. I have no knowledge of DW but custom characters seems like a nice add-on.

I'm a HUGE fan of dynasty warriors.

Empires is your only choice, you get so much more freedom than 6.

In number 6 your stuck with very linear story paths- generic yellow turban-dong zhuo- lu bu-three kingdom bouts, empires basically let's you do whatever you want.

although number 6's lu bu's story is insane, all in all empires is a more complete game, 6 feels more like a demo compared to it.

also dynasty warriors strike force is a completely new game style, I personally prefer old school DW but check it out after you've had your fill of empires :p

Meh for me the Dynasty Warriors franchise reached its peak at DW3(when they added two player) or DW4(when they added custom generic characters).
Agreed number 4 and it's extreme legends and empires add ons made for the most enjoyable playing, it seemed to have the most effort put in voice acting and design wise.

Depends on what your looking for in the game. DW6 has only a couple storylines but at least they are there. DW6 Empires doesn't really have a story line just different scenerioes that take place at different points in the DW storyline. That being said Empires does allow you to take your own path rather than tread down the very-well trodden DW storyline. Also if I remember correctly only Empires has the custom character creator so if you don't like the characters given to you in 6 (which is hard to imagine cus there are a lot of characters to choose from) then you're sorta stuck.
If you're looking for several storylines then go with DW6.
If you're looking to make you're own story or want some quasi-strategy to go with your hack-and-slasher go with Empires.
I personally liked Empires more because of the ability to conqueor all of China with whoever and however you choose, but I do miss a stronger story occasionally. Then of course I'm probably just spoilt from Hearts of Iron 2 when it comes to "story" driven strategy games.

With empires you conquer people and build up your own nation with the endgame goal of conquering all China, it is quite fun.

Let me start by saying that I had never played a Dynasty Warrior title before checking those games out.

DW6, I hated. I had no idea what was going on or who anybody was. On top of all that, the game felt extremely restrictive. As soon as my rental finished, I had no intention of trying it ever again.

DW6:E, I loved. The extensive codex filled in all the blanks, the gameplay was much more liberating, and the story itself actually mattered very little because of the extremely freeform campaign anyway. On top of all that, it has easy trophies to boot (if you care about such things).
