Poll: Dynasty Warriors Do you Play it?

So with Dynasty Warriors 7 comming out soon I am wondering who plays and if they enjoy it?


Personaly I love the series but Samurai Warriors is better imo


I plan on getting DW7 when it comes out next week on PS3.

Only the Gundam ones.
Each of my friends has called a character they always play. I smartly chose Setsuna so if they come out with a new one(i hope so) I get a gundam that can travel through space/time and lets me see people naked....

Love it, although the only version I play anymore is DW4: Extreme Legends.

I've always liked Pang Tong for the weird sounds he makes in battle, and I guess I sort of identify with Sun Shang Xiang being the younger daughter with more famous older brothers.

tbh, Dynasty warriors is one of the worst gaming franchises I have consistantly played. A good freind of mine often plays them and every time I play a DW game with him, the horribul story and charactors and voice acting drives me away from the campaing and the fighting is mind bumingly boring. The worst thing is, every game I have played is never any diffrence from the others, there is no improvement.

Which is a shame, I wish there were more games based in achient china/asia

It's always the same button-mashing in every version, with soldiers dangling back and forth waiting their turn to me annihilated, instead of the more sensible thing to do: gang up and rape the character.

PS3 most definitely. 'Azure-Supernova' if you wanna slaughter some troops.

They actually fixed all the pronunciations for DW6. Doesn't excuse the way they broke combo systems and managed to make it even less difficult than it already was.

Dynasty Warriors is one of my favorite game. I'll wait a week or two for the reviews to come out before I get 7 though. Was disappointed with the story in 6 and want to make sure they don't have the same "5 missions per character" thing going on in 7.

Favorite character is Sima Yi.

Am I the only one who was dissapointed that they fixed the pronuciation? The horrible acting and mangling of names was part of the series charm for me.

I mean, I can't be the only person who giggled at "I am Cow Pee."

Samurai Warriors IS better, yes. I'm hoping the PS3 version of SW3 makes it to the US, because I don't have access to a Wii, dammit.

While i've been a fan of the DW franchise for ages, 7 is the first time I've felt legitimately excited for the news DW release (SW is a different story, with both 1 and 2 offering enough new to make me squeeeeeee)

This covers my own opinion pretty much exactly. A good friend of mine loves the series, so I have played several entries, but the only noticeably difference between entries is graphical upgrades, and that hardly warrants a sequel, in my mind.

I loved it to death when I first played it, but then I played it to death... 38 out of 42 (I think) characters maxed out with their 4th weapon. Personally I feel the actual gameplay peaked at 3, although online multiplayer makes the others seem somewhat worthwhile.
As for my favorite character... that's a tough question, I suppose it would have to be Gan Ning
He's a pirate, has tatoos, is also a general and he gets what is possibly the most effective Musou attack against blobs of enemies. Just runs through everyone with his sword out to the side for as long as his Musou gage lasts.
