Poll: E3 2010

I just saw the topic on IGN where they discussed how they thought Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft might "win" E3. So I wondered what those at the Escapist though as far as who they though would "win" E3 and what they would need to really take the show. (Note: By win I mean have the display that steals the show most for gamers).

I personally think that if Nintendo really presents the new Legend of Zelda and its amazing it might do it. But Sony or Microsoft need to somehow manage to sell their motion controls to the "hardcore" gamers.

Edit: Okay, so I reread it a lot and finally properly got it.

I think personally, no one will win. Each camp of Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have their own supporters. I doubt any of them will broadcast anything that will persuade people to ditch their team and join the "enemy side". When any of those three mention anything, it's usually to appear to the current crowd rather than any new crowd.

Meh, E3 is a joke nowadays. It used to be the best but it's really done down hill in the last few years.

Note the quotes around winner. What I mean is who will steal the show the most.

No idea, and I never buy into one of the three companies 'winning'. I'm far more interested in the individual game announcements/news that will come out of E3 than anything that's going on with the consoles.

And on that note, the things I'm hoping for in E3 are:

Final Fantasy VS XIII gameplay footage
InFamous 2 announcement

No idea actually. This E3 might be pretty bland actually. Most exiting games from Sony have already been announced more or less (Killzone 3, Little Big Planet 2, Socom 4, etc.), same for Microsoft, and The only exiting game I can think of from nintendo is the new Zelda game.

Huh, come to think of it, Nintendo might be the winner after all with Zelda.

Fine, I'll vote for Nintendo.

I'm going with microsoft, but if nintendo announces Golden Sun Ds, I would buy a DS just for that.

Nintendo. If they showcase the 3DS, which is theoretically possible, they will hands down win. Otherwise, it'll probably just be a turf war between Sony and Microsoft over who has the better motion-control hardware.

Eeeeeeaaaahhhhhhhheeehhh....

I don't know, I'm not very excited for any of 'em. I'm not sure what Sony could announce that'd get my attention. I think NATAL is going to be a huge, disappointing flop and that there's nothing it could do other than make the equivalent of $60 flash games. The Wii hasn't been exciting to me for several years. That leaves the handhelds, which never really excited me in the first place.

Meh. I don't know what ANY of them could show me at this point that'd impress me, and that goes for console manufacturers and game developers alike.

Crossing my fingers on that one. It has to come out eventually, right?

However, I think Nintendo will "win" by finally showing something worthwhile about the new Legend of Zelda (although I doubt it'll come out anytime soon...)
