Firstly, let me get it out of the way that I am a HUGE Nintendo fanboy.
As the son of immigrants to Canada, all we could afford were consoles for a long time.
I say this, because my opinion on E3 is crazy biased.
This year's E3 really made me think...
Being a Nintendo fan, it was disheartening to see a whole bunch of games I wanted, and to top it all off - the PS4 was priced at (what I think) was a reasonable value, and Sony tends to make some pretty damn good exclusives...
Let me break it down:
1. Super Smash Bros. WiiU/3DS ($100 together)
2. Mario Kart 8 ($60)
3. Pokemon X ($40) [My brother is getting the Y version]
4. The Wonderful 101 ($60)
5. Super Mario 3D World ($60)
6. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds/Wind Waker HD ($100 together)
7. PS4 ($400)
8. inFAMOUS: Second Son ($60)
9. Killzone 4 ($60)
10. Watch Dogs ($60)
11. Destiny ($60)
And to top it all off, I also want to upgrade my computer's GPU from a Radeon 6850 to an NVIDIA 780 ($700)
So, all in all, that's about $1740 plus taxes for the stuff I want
This may all be a "First World Problem", and I realize it may be quite immature of me to be complaining about something like this, but I'm pretty sure this is only a conservative estimate as to what a lot of other people will be spending over the next few months on games.
In realizing this, I've decided to cut back on gaming, and buy more of my games later rather than sooner to save some money.
Maybe my bill won't be so high that way.
So thanks E3 - You just taught me fiscal responsibility by showing me how I can't afford all the stuff I want. A lesson I should have learned a LONG time ago.
What about you guys?
How do you spend your cash on games, and how WILL you spend?
