EA is currently rumored to be preparing to replace their current CEO, John Riccitiello, in favor of promoting Peter Moore, boss of EA Sports, as the new CEO of the company.

Nope, I'm done.

Nothing's going to change.

Oh it'll change things; but likely not for the better.

I'm just worried as EA sports makes big money of iteration and annualization. I simply hope that doesn't become a company wide mandate under Moore's leadership.

Hopefully Moore isn't an idiot and realizes that business tactic is sound for sports games, but not realistic for all games.

Things will definitely change but not in ways we might want them to. Still this is a big change and some things will be different.

No it will not change, conglomerates like this do not change direction easily once the momentum builds up.
You might as well go in and machine gun the entire board room and they could be replaced by 50 soulless accountants by the end of the week, and they would just keep on going as it always was.

I think people are forgetting that the current CEO was actually trying to do a lot of good when he first got promoted. Jim talked about a good amount of them in his episode on EA and John Riccitiello also green lit a lot of new IPs for EA. The response from the share holders? Stop doing anything new or we'll fire you. Do I think this will change anything? Not unless the shareholders go as well.

Like it'll actually make a difference? The CEO can't beat sensible into the shareholders who demand stuff.

Sigh... I am a pessimist so it will get worse. There is however a faint glimmer of hope that for a brief period of time he might be able to do some good. Not likely in the slightest but there is that minuscule of hope.
