Hiya escapists.

This week it's easter, so I'm on vacation.
It just occured to me though: Here in Norway, state and church isn't separated. Do people in other countries still get the week off from school in the easter?

So: What country are you from, and do you get the week off during easter?

I only mentioned school in the poll, since school vacations are more standardized than vacations from work. After all, there are people working on christmas eve and stuff; so if you're not currently in school, try to remember whether you did get the week off back in the day. Do feel free to mention it if you get off work too though.

Because I go to a catholic university, I get the Monday after and Good Friday off. My school is private, though, so they can do whatever the fuck they want with their schedules.
Which is awesome for me, because since I'm an atheist, I get a 5 day weekend for no real reasons.
I live in America, by the way.

I'm pretty sure we get a day off or extended weekend here during Easter. It's celebrated more as a secular holiday now with imagery of the Easter Bunny and stuff.

I live in the US btw.

I'm from Sweden, one of the less religious countries out there. We get a week off from school in Easter.

Used to be that we'd have our end of term holidays co-inciding with easter, so Easter day was always during the 2 week holiday, hence we called the easter holidays.
Now they've changed to so that the holidays are a set date. this year Easter day is not during the holiday.
However we still get Good friday and Easter monday off.
As a result of this and a few bank holidays plus this royal wedding, i only have to go to college for 8 days in the month of april.
And since i'm not catholic myself yet am surrounded by them, i get time off and loads of chocolate, and still don't have to do any of the religious shit.
Although it's sort of a bad thing since the exams are soon, so :\

Uk by the way.
