Easy, because I'm completely hardcore. I don't really enjoy giving the quickload key a smack every 3 minutes, but maybe I just suck at games. I played Dragon Age: Origins on medium for 12 hours and after being served my ass on a plate with side order of extra kick for the 50th BAZILLIONTH time I swapped to easy and never looked back. I am now having a great deal of fun progressing through the story, developing characters and I am now able to see off a pack of inquisitive wolf cubs without half my party dying. Result!

Hard, because I tend to sell my games soon after finishing them so I find it better to eliminate any reason I may have to replay a game. If I really enjoy it I will play it again on easy and enjoy applying my hard won ability from hard mode on unsuspecting npcs.

The exception to this philosophy is Dragon Age:Origins, because I'm just not good enough at the game, but I enjoy it enough to try and get the story.

Usually play on medium, then change the difficulty depending on what it's like. Usually save Hard for the 2nd playthrough.

My first play through is always on Normal difficulty. If I enjoyed the game enough, I play again with the difficulty ramped up to Hard.

I always go for the hardest difficulty since I dont want to play the same game twice on different difficulties.

Default on my first time through, which is usually Medium. But I'll work my way up to Lunatic in games that have it.

Like most people, medium. In sports games I'll do All-Star mode but in most others I just want average difficulty. If I want to play through again I'll do insane, though.
