But that's the thing, if I use the fork in my right hand, it's the one that does all the work. For me, the knife just moves a bit back and forth along my guiding fork.

Yeah the fork is "supposed" to go on the left hand. It's one of those archaic table manner things that really serve no purpose whatsoever. I remember my school teacher being really pissy about it.

See, and for me that way just feels wrong. Why would I use a piece of cutlery at one time with this and another time with that hand?

The way you hold them seems more logical when you consider right-handers only holding one utensil (i.e. only a fork/spook) usually hold that single item in their dominant hand.

I didnt know that there were specific hands for the utensils but i guess i have been doing it wrong for my whole life.

Ill start off with my fork in my right and knife in my left than continually switch them as the dinner goes on =S
