Having just finished Episode 2 for the 50th time, I was wondering what peoples opinions were concerning the Borealis and how Gordon and Alyx should deal with it in Episode 3 / Half-Life 3

Eli wants to destroy the Borealis at all costs because he doesn't want another Black Mesa incident and he believes the G-man's manipulation of Alyx is a sign that it may happen if they attempt to use it.

Kleiner wants to retrieve the Borealis' technology for use against the Combine. He thinks that the Resistance would be able to integrate the Borealis' tech into their arsenal, giving them a decisive edge against the now cut-off Combine.

EDIT: Just realized I put this in Off-Topic. Any way to move it?

The Borealis is there in Portal 2. So, I suppose it wasn't destroyed. If Portal 2 is set after HL2E3, that it, I'm not entirely sure how they fit on the same timeline.

Well, contact the mods, I suppose but they should see and correct the error sooner or later. I hope.

The thing is, we know pretty much nothing about what the Borealis did that was apparently so dangerous. All we know is that Eli thinks that using it could potentially have catastrophic consequences for the human race, which, knowing Aperture Science, means it was probably meant to be a coffeemaker.

I laughed. But then it's true. It just reminded me of a wild mass guess that Cave Johnson is actually Bloody Stupid Johnson.
