But... but...my life... it is all meaningless now.... *plays through portal, kills the multi-purpose weighted companion cube who looked very feminine and must have had a gender change or something* ... Murder and violence, its all that is left to me in life, if the femininity of the Companion cube is not secure... nothing is...

In Saints Row 2, I killed Carlos after he had been dragged around by a truck for a while.
That was in the cutscene you had no choice.
Doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Dosen't mean you did it either.
Well with that kind of argument, no one here has done it.

The character avatar I had been controlling for the majority of the game killed someone out of mercy for the suffering that they would have been subject to if not for his actions.
There, that specific enough?

No. Sure, some kills put characters out of their misery, but my primary reason for killing anything in a video game is to see someone go SPLAT! (Or in the case of Oregon Trail, to get food.)

Well, think about it. It's supposed to be Chell's(the main character) love interest. If that is so, we can only assume that the cube is a male, but that is open to interpretation, I suppose.

I do this heaps.
Especially in GTA4.
I see pedestrians and think... Hey that poor guy! I would really hate to have to walk around town! Splattering him all over my windshield seems the thoughtful thing to do.

Chell was obviously feelin' bi-curious with that VERY feminine cube... perhaps the cube was a pleasure model... these pleasure models could be bi-gender? yes! GENIUS!

Mass Effect.
You stumble across a ship in deep space whose crew has been killed by a biotic who went berserk and killed them all because her boyfriend was rendered into a vegetable state, a body with no mind, and they wanted to ease his suffering. You kill her and have the choice of leaving the body or killing it.

I don't actually make a logical choice about why to kill things in a video game. If it has the ability to die within the game then it does, by my hands. So if my choice to kill something turns out to be altruistic, that is pure
accident. Plus it's fun:p

I rarely feel enough emotion towards the pixels to warrant a mercy killing. I mostly just kill anything for the shits and giggles and because I can.

When playing Duke Nukem 3D, sometimes I'll shoot a grunt just enough to make him start choking and bleeding. It is then that I engage the Mighty Foot and send him to meet his maker.

At a certain point you're sent on a mission to save your brother. He has been kidnapped and he posses valuable information. When you finally reach him, he has been badly tortured and will most likely die soon. After he has given you the information, you have the option the either kill him using the dialogue option, to end the dialogue and kill him "manually" or to let him live, knowing that he will die a horrible death caused by his many wounds and by exhaustion.
The absolute only way to ever know the name of your brother is to end the dialogue and to then manually kill him with your weapon. In the combat dialogue it will say "xx has taken 1 damage". His name is never mentioned in any dialogue.

After I killed everyone in Megaton in Fallout 3, just because I was an evil character, I felt really, really bad.

But there was this child walking around. As you know, you can't kill children. She(I think it was a girl, don't remember) just walked around town...It was actually quite depressing. So, after a few times seeing that, I installed a mod to kill children. I hated myself for doing it, but that poor girl. T_T

I don't remember any part like that. Where was it?
Did you finish it? If so, think hard...

I think he survives that. At least with me the readout on detective mode on him was "unconcious"

I haven't played it in a long time, I'll have to do that again. I think I know what you're talking about, now that I think about it.

Well I still like to count it as a kill, seeing as Joker Gas is fatal and it took me quite a while to turn off all of the fans.

I killed all the beggars in Oblivion once. It got really hard to do when the bounty got really high. Managed to do it with the help of the invisibility spell and killed no guards (they just didn't understand that I was putting all the beggars out of their misery).

I think I got them all anyway.
