3 Playthroughs-

M/Paragon, M/Renegade, F/Paragon

The renegade stuff is quite entertaining, but the first time through, yea- I wanted to deal with things the so-called 'better route'
and then went and did that again with a Female shepard to get that experience from the game. Definitely got my moneys worth from that game- or however much Ive spent on it with the DLC included.

Both?

Generally cool with bros, asshole to assholes. I think the transfer file said overall it was more Paragon than Renegade, but there were definitely some solid Renegade choices in there. For example, let the council die. Not entirely because they were useless obstructionist assbags the entire game, but because when the options came down to either (A) save some random elected politicians at the risk of blowing the mission (and by extension dooming the galaxy), or (B) leaving them to their own devices so you can focus on the big picture and do what needs to be done ... fuck 'em, I'll take (B) every time. Because in the moment, you have no way of knowing if you have time to do both.

What's more frustrating is how there's some sort of assumption that Renegade = dumb, occasionally xenophobic asshole. Oh, you didn't want to blow up the Collector base because the Reapers are coming and throwing away such a massive resource and insight into their technology can potentially doom *literally everyone*? Pff, well clearly you are a big stupid and TIM tricked you or you're blindly pro-human. Argh. No. Please stop making these assumptions for me.

Was hoping for a True Neutral option for those of us who play KOTOR and understand that pure good or pure evil is bad.

The problem with morality in games is that being "Evil" doesn't generally fit with the storyline. The main plot is usually about saving the world/universe/planet/humanity etc which at the end of the day is essentially a noble cause, so why would an "evil" character bother? Surely he/she would just say "to hell with you all!" and be done with it. Therefore it's more of an attitude system than anything else.

Shepard is either "Angel of virtue" or "total asshole." None of the renegade choices ever make him/her look anything more than a collosal jerk.

I play as I feel my character would and she is just all all out goody-two-shoes. But then again I'm one of these saps who feels a connection with the characters and I feel really bad when I accidently wrong someone in the game. Still, I have tried Renegade and it felt good to push that merc guy off the Dantius Tower, to punch stupid Al-Jilani in the face and to headbutt stupid Uvenk the Krogan.

In a game like this, I like being the hero. Plus, Paragon conforms more to my world view anyway, so 95% of the Paragon choices are what I personally would have chosen anyway.

EVIL Shepard?

Renegade Shep is still a hero, really. He's also just a dick about it.

Anyway, Paragon.

I usually do what I would do, which ends up being paragon, but with a healthy bit of renegade in there, too. I'm a good guy, but I'm easily pissed off.

YOu have to remember its not good or evil. Its hero or bad-ass and there is a major difference. I just took the options i agreed with and ended up being a paragon.

I hate bad Shep. Some games I can play a bad guy, but not ME. Bad Shep just feels like a jerk to me, instead of a genuinely evil character (which can be fun) or even an extremist. He just feels like a chaotic Evil, instead of Lawful or Neutral.

Paragon because scarred up Shepard is hideous. BioWare did the same thing with KoTOR.

This, this is why i'm always the good guy in bioware games, because if you aren't you end up getting hit with the big assed ugly stick and it annoys me (like how if you were sith in KoToR your face became hideous)

But I usually end up choosing what I would choose, so some times he's a complete ass but is usually nice and helpful

Renegade female Shepard first, then paragon male. Always that way for RPGs, femme fatale first, then upstanding heroic manly man.

I picked "Good" because I mostly end up with more paragon points then renegade, but I mostly just role play her, and so there are plenty of times I knowingly pick an "Evil" option because I consider it in character.

I like my Shepard to be nice enough that he/she doesn't come off as a jerk, but when it comes to decisions he/she is not afraid to do what is necessary. Which is usually the renegade option; if the stakes were that high being 'nice' is going to get people killed. And diplomacy can suck balls, there's a galaxy to save.

It's just such a shame that in ME2 you have to go all one way otherwise you, by some arbitrary scale, can't influence/intimidate people.

I have a very high Paragon count but always found myself doing the quick-time Renegade options during Mass Effect 2.

I play paragon for the most part, but I can't resist those awesome renegade interrupts. My overall is neutral with a hint of good.
