I'm not going to say Evolution is 100% true because it could be flawed, but it is overwhelmingly well proved to just say it is not, in part, fact.

Yes... I've gone over part of this in another post because I realised there was something slightly faulty with the statements I was making.

Nonetheless, irrespective of if we'd notice it or not, that doesn't strictly change whether or not science (or any other philosophical system) rests on any unsupported assumptions.

Just because it's reasonable and obvious, doesn't stop something being an assumption, after all.

We don't assume that the rules don't change, because there are no "rules". What science is is trying to get data that remains consistant with reality. They then publish their findings so that anybody who wishes can attempt to recreate their findings, and if anybody manages to produce other, contradicting results, they have proven that form of the theory wrong. It's a system that's incredibly good at figuring out what isn't true, as long as you're willing to ignore the projectile vomit spewed out by those who're butthurt from the discovery that their parents ignorant, mis-informed beleifs were wrong this whole time and that they'll now have to actually take a moment to think for once in their life.

Throwing me off a cliff won't fundamentally answer whether gravity, as science tends to describe it is actually an accurate reflection of anything at all.

No amount of data will tell you if the pattern you think you're seeing is actually there or not. Yet you cannot do anything useful with any of this unless you assume that this pattern actually has some stability to it.

Objectivity can't be proven. The existence of an objectively true and independent reality can't be proven. Your statements rest on far more arbitrary assumptions than you'd like to think.

But as you say, science is a good system for figuring out what isn't true. Unfortunately, it is next to useless for figuring out what is true.

Thus, to some extent while it removes a lot of ignorance, it seems to cultivate a different kind of ignorance in those that follow it without giving any thought to how or why it works.

But then, as you seem hell-bent on arguing that I'm being ignorant for claiming science can ever possibly have any aspects whatsoever (however slight) to it that are equally as arbitrary as anything any religion has come up with, I'll leave you to your dogmatic belief in the 'one true philosophy of science'.

(And just in case you think I'm some religious zealot, arguing about this for the sake of my 'religion', I should point out that I don't have one. I just find it incredibly baffling how many people argue as dogmatically about science as others would in support of whatever chosen religion they happen to believe in.)

Maybe they are sheep but there happy and the Atheist feel the need to crush that person. Sigh... You keep using that word attack. I do not think it means what you think it means. Atheists do not attack christians. They discuss with them. They have different opinions, so a clash is bound to happen. It is just natural.

Point is - the atheists have pulled up scientific evidence and shot down the unprovable pieces of propaganda the creationists have thrown up in response. They have not been superior or arrogant. They have invited the creationists to bring their evidence. How is that proof that we atheists are in any way to be compared to religious fanatics?

No just blind loyalty the inability to admit. Hey we could be wrong and the fact they attack anyone who does not believe what they believe. They would cause a war if they were enough of them. So no I don?t see most of the hateful atheist here as any different than the fanatic with the god hates gays sign.

Which atheist has been hateful or fanatical here? Most people are simply refuting the wildly falacious claims that the religious are bringing forth. The only ill will is towards us.

your statement is hugely generalizing and prejudiced. I'd be more than happy if all religion went away, but I would never support any kind of war to achieve that. Most religious people are decent people who are just ill-informed and brainwashed from a young age.

I am not a fanatical atheist who is maliciously trying to convert people. I just want people to think with an open mind and actually look at the facts and judge for themselves. And there are no good facts supporting a creation, let alone a Christian creation.

The simple fact is I seen it with my own eye. Atheist attack a believer over and over unable to leave them alone. Maybe they are sheep but there happy and the Atheist feel the need to crush that person. They are unable to let that person be and I've seen more atheist attack christen who just want to be left alone.

I will give the ones who burn or kill others because of a sky wizard need to be stopped. Why can't they leave the one alone who does none of that but is a believer because it brings about a sense of peace. If this person need to believe to have any sense of quality of life and don't start the whole lie thing. It?s a lie that can only be unproven on death. So explain why they are attacked.

Anyway, atheists are still hugely in a minority in the world, and they are actively being oppressed by religions, just like religion oppresses so many other minority groups (LGBT, pro choicers, other smaller religions, sometimes whole races). Yes there are some militant atheists who are so bent on converting people that they can be assholes. No, they are not the majority. Atheists are more oppressed than they are oppressive. Most just mind their own business most of the time, or try to rationally convince people that maybe they aren't believing things that make the most sense.

I personally have never heard a story of an atheist murdering someone because of their religion. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it happens significantly less than religious group members killing people in the name of their religion (killing of Dr. Tiller, muslim extremism)

If you're going to complain about another person's grammar, it's best to make sure you don't make any mistakes of your own. That aside, his grammar is indeed much worse.
