Well, I've never been bothered about FEAR or many other FPSs at all really, but this multiplayer mode (I love me some REAL CO-OP teamplay) instantly grabbed me.

....Go on then I'll treat you to a poll.

As stagnant as the F.E.A.R series is story wise - these new co-op modes seems quite original and innovative.

Uncreative American horror style, generic call of duty shooter mechanics and little need for cooperation. Meh.

I have Left 4 Dead. I think I'll play that for a few more years before I get another coop game.

See, I really liked Left 4 Dead when it first came out, I was scared all the time, but after a few days it just got far too easy, I think I was looking for something more like Resident Evil 1 and 2 with friends where you really had to fight to survive.

Color me intrigued... I have never really played fear, but this looks really cool. I just might have to try this now.

Fear has never had the best Single-player, but at least this one's multiplayer looks interesting.

Hopefully the wall of death speeds up if your team gets way ahead, if it doesn't it will be scaled terribly for new players and comically easy for vets.

I can see it being well balanced, I can't see it being a finite amount of enemies where if you kill them you can just leg it to the end, well, I hope it's well balanced so that it's fair play all the way through where you're fighting for survival till the end, otherwise, that's a doozy of a slip up by the makers of the game.

Cheers I haven't figured how to post videos like that yet  and yeah I think if there was more things that grabbed me about the game as a whole, I'd get it, but I won't be buying it just for that.

So if one player gets eaten by the wall of death, it's game over for everyone? I smell a griefing opportunity.

Well, sounds like it's "very coop", so as usual laying with people you know / friendslist can alleviate that. Depending on whether there's a meta-level (persistent account info), you also might be able to ID griefers ahead of time -- although tbh i'd be surprised if something like that makes it into a game. As of now, persistent information is mostly used for XP/upgrade type systems to help game longevity, not so much as warning mechanism against muppets.

Let's get this straight.

If any team member touches the wall of death they die. Also if any team member die it's game over?

That sounds like a really easy way to grief.

this looks good, but Will I need to play the other games to understand this one? Also, is this super gore-fest, not that I'm afraid of blood or anything, but in scary games, gore just makes it too boring for me, makes it too silly and ruins the horror

I never really got into fear, but I always liked the "Run away from the insta-kill thing with lots of combat going on"

The only thing I hope is that the game mode changes its paths that you must take, otherwise it'd just be the same damned thing over and over again.

Altough It sounds retarded for me to say it, get some friends and play Black-ops zombies

Its pretty fun and does take some work, though the fact that you're getting ANOTHER CoD with it makes it feel....odd. I don't know how to say it.

I can appreciate some creative spins on co-op. Reminds me of a L4D game only more pushy and actually depends on the team to not suck. The wall of death is a nice anesthetic and a good motivator to move faster. Fear's single player may have bit some serious turds last 2 games but hopefully they figure out that massive plot danglers dont make good endings by now.

especially considering The Youth Counselor's point that it makes it pretty easy for some jackass to join and intentionally run for the wall of death.
Agreed, they should make it so that they just get consumed and the team continues without them, just like L4D.

Honestly I dont give a crap about the F.E.A.R series but this actually looks like fun times.

"RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN, WHY FIGHT WHEN YOU CAN RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN"

Also, I did not relise Warner Bros had anything to do with gaming, you learn something every day.
