OK, I searched the forums and couldn't find anything about this, so don't yell at me if this has been posted.

A little more than a year ago, I bought fallout 3 for the retail price of 50$ off of steam. Once all the addons came out, I looked far and wide for a way to buy all of them. There was none. The only way i could have done it is if I re-bought the game off of Windows live, costing me an extra 50$, with reports saying that I wouldn't be able to transfer my old saves. A 50$ that I did not, at the time, have. So, for the first time in my life, I pirated a part of a game.

Now I haven't really regretted doing this, as for the past few months, there was no way to simply buy the addons. This changed a few weeks ago, when steam FINALLY released the addons for sale. 5 of them at 10 bucks each. Now, they also released the GOTY edition that includes all of the addons, for 50$ and lowered the originals price to $30. That means that no matter what I do, I'd have to pay 50$ to get these addons legally, while everyone who buys it now will essentially get them for free.

So, should I spend 100 total dollars on a game worth 50? Or should I keep what I have now? (Note: ever since Arkham Asylum forced me to make a LIVE account, I'm getting achievements whenever I play, so aside from steam reporting that I'm playing "Falloutlauncher", it's the exact same game)

Honestly, you'd be better not to even bother with Mothership Zeta and The Pitt (both of which I found really boring). Operation Anchorage is also pretty boring, but you get some really good loot from it.

The only two expansions I would actually suggest getting are Point Lookout (this was like Fallout 3's Shivering Isles in my opinion) and Broken Steel.

EDIT: By which I mean... only spend ten dollars and just get the two expansions.

Well dlc is generally speaking for fans who couldnt get enough of the game, it ties up some loose ends with the enclave and gives your original save an extension to play after you beat the game

What you have to ask yourself is: did i like the game soo much that i want more? If so get the goty edition it works out alot cheaper

That's not it. I have all of the addons. I've played them all, but I still like playing the game. I'm not asking what to buy, I'm asking whether or not to buy it.

Now I'm confused... you want to buy it all... again? That doesn't make any sense... why would you buy it all over again if you've already played it?

mothership zeta just gives you ass-powerful weapons, operation anchorage gives you free power armor training and the most powerful armor in game and a instant ticket to dominance over anything if your low level, point lookout is okay, the pitt again okay but kinda short, broken steel is best because it ended the point of no return and gave new weapons and armor that aren't godly though the tesla cannon is very powerful and it also adds more story

Must-have: Broken Steel. Fallout 3 just isn't Fallout 3 without it.
Good to have: Point Lookout (lots of stuff to do, great bang for the buck), The Pitt (ditto, plus the silenced assault rifles and the Man Opener---essentially the bastard child of a Ripper and a Deathclaw Gauntlet---are awesome.)
Essentially a DLC pack for the loot: Operation Anchorage. The quest is nothing special, but I'd pay ten bucks for the Chinese Stealth Armor---to hell with the simulation!
Waste of money, brains, and time: Mothership Zeta. Just lame.

That's why you resolve the Tenpenny Tower quest in favor of the ghouls so you can get the Ghoul Mask, complete with glitch, and never get bothered by ferals again unless you pick the fight!

Get The Pitt and Broken Steel (And Point Lookout, if you're still looking for something to do) and give the others a miss. Anchorage was awful, and I heard Zeta wasn't any better. Point Lookout is a hit-or-miss, but The Pitt and Broken Steel are two you really need to get. They were awesome.

The only one I cared about was Broken Steel since it was the only one that was an expansion instead of just dropping you somewhere new that you didn't care about.

Step 1. Equip Ghoul Mask as normal after getting it from Roy Phillips in the Tenpenny Tower quest.
Step 2. Take damage until Ghoul Mask is broken.
Step 3. Unequip, then try to re-equip Ghoul Mask. You'll get a "cannot be equipped until repaired" Pip-Boy message.
Step 4. Provided you don't repair and equip the mask at any future point, Feral Ghouls (and anyone connected to their faction) are permanently friendly to you, although they can't really be interacted with. This has some interesting effects in-game, as any character that has to be around Ferals is usually placed into their faction to keep the AI from getting them killed; otherwise hostile NPCs like The Surgeon [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Surgeon] in the Red Racer factory.
Step 5. Enjoy a death-by-Reaver-free Fallout 3 experience!

I'd suggest buying at least two of them: Broken Steel and Point Lookout. Both are amazing addons and well worth the $10 to get them. I'd reccommend also getting Operation: Anchorage, not because of an immersive or cool story, but because of the great weapons and best armors in the game. The Pitt and Mothership Zeta are up in the air - I was unimpressed with TP and I never could bring myself to go all the way through MZ. But definitely get BS and PL, and probably OA.

I wouldn't recommenced any accept broken steel and Anchorage. Mothership is long and boring. The Pit ehhh its ok but short. Point Lookout you should get if you're looking for a challenge and sweet hats that are everywhere.
