I only have 1000 Microsoft points on tap which means I can only get one expansion pack (they are 800 points each)

If been thinking for a while, but I can't decide on which one to get, I'm leaning toward Operation: Anchorage and Broken Steel, but I'm open to opinions and suggestions.

Thanks in advance to all who contribute.

Broken steel, INcreased level cap and can continue past the main campaign, undoubtably the one to go for first

I heard that Point Lookout is the best of the five available right now. But I also heard that Anchorage will get a 400P discount for XBL Gold users.

So....Yeah. I'm not being helpful here.

(I'd say Broken Steel, but I haven't really looked into it)

None of them are very well recieved, but Operation: Anchorage and Mothership Zeta are probably the worst.

Broken Steel extends the level cap, but it seems like that would make character design pointless because you can literally max out everything.

Honestly, I'd spend the points elsewhere, but you wanted a recommendation so get "Broken Steel."

Well, if you want to play for a long time afterwards and bang for your buck, definitely Broken Steel. Ten more levels, and allows you to play past the ending.

After that though, I recommend Point Lookout, as it extremely open ended in a new world that you can go back to, and hasn't been seen yet. That, and it makes you a god with its perks.

Go for broken steel first. It adds some really great quests and stops the game from ending. Get the others after most definately because they are all awesome but get broken steel first.
Not only does it stop the game from ending after the project impurity quest, it raies the level cap to 30. Once you have it feel free to do the main quest them roam the capitol wasteland at your leisure

If you can only get one then get Broken Steel, the extended lvl cap and continued play is a big bonus as well as some new enemies that actually pose a challenge even some new weapons and armor(but they all have new weapons and armor).

Good > Bad

Point Lookout > Broken steel > The Pitt > Operation Anchorage > Mothership Zeta

Items

Operation Anchorage > Broken steel/Point Lookout > The Pitt > Mothership Zeta

Overall I'd recommend Point Lookout.
Don't stress getting Broken steel, The new perks are either useless or overpowered, the level cap increase just unbalances the game even more.

Point Lookout, easily. The best part about Fallout 3 is exploring. Why does only one expansion center around it?

Broken Steel had a terrible main quest, but the 10 extra levels do add a lot more play time.

Mothership Zeta was...muh. It was certainly a very interesting idea. If it wasn't for the rediculous fact that most of the ship seals itself off when your finished with the main quest it would have been better that Broken Steel.

Broken steel without question.

possibly not the overall best story/gameplay for the expansion packs, but the increased lvl cap > anything else

that said, it has MORE LIBERTY PRIME!

Broken Steal plus the obvious increased level cap, you get the perk PUPPIES!! so you can actually use dogmeat and not have him get killed.

Orrrr you could just hack the game and make him essential.
I would but I can't hack

It's not like you're cracking into banks or something.

You're just editing some text files.
Actually, you're just putting in a console command.
To be fair, PC or console is a huge deal here, i don't think they mentioned what version they had...

PC = enter 1 line console command and done

Console = huge deal, i wouldn't even know where to start, may even involve flashing firmwares and so on to enable it...

Broken Steel is the best because it fixes the ending and raises the level cap. Plus you face stronger enemies, and get more awesome weapons and armour (like the hellfire armor).

I have all five, and if you're only getting one, I'd recommend Broken Steel. Higher level cap, extension of the main quest,
You SURVIVE the main quest, and you get to nuke cities if you're evil?

Hell

Yes

Point Lookout is the better expansion in my opinion - though it's hard to recommend anything except Broken Steel because of the raised level-cap. It adds a lot more hours of gameplay than any other partly because it takes a lot longer to level your character all the way up to 30.

However, I would strongly suggest that you check out Point Lookout after you buy Broken Steel. Point Lookout's got a whole new area that has a great sense of atmosphere - better, for me at least, than the Capital Wasteland's. Regardless of that, the main quests are interesting and there's a whole host of little areas you stumble across that just make Lookout seem much better-realised than the other DLCs.

sell your copy of fallout, wait until october, then buy the game of the year edition and get them all plus the original game in a handy £40 package. it's well worth it when you consider that bought separately they collectively cost about £35.
