If Obsidian writes it, and Valve does the Quality Assurance, then I will buy it. Of course, Valve is only wishful thinking.

Depends. If made by Bethesda, no chance in hell. Fallout 3 was one too many. If made by Obsidian, TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!

Maybe, but the fact that Bethesda would be making it and not Obsidian (with Chris Avellone at the helm) makes me sad enough that I might just not bother with it. Nothing really against Bethesda; Fallout 3 was okay despite the terrible ending, and I love Skyrim, but Obsidian is just better when it comes to the things I really want to see in a new Fallout game (smart writing, tough moral choices, relatable characters, meaningful themes, etc.). Bethesda's great at epic escapist fantasy, but that's not Fallout. At the very most, unless I hear they've gone in a smarter, more New Vegas-like direction with the writing and morality system, I might get a Bethesda-made Fallout 4 after a huge price drop.

Of course I'll buy it! I hope it's made by Bethesda, and I expect it will be. I like the large amount of dialog options in New Vegas, but Obsidian doesn't care about sound FX and music, which makes their games much worse in my eyes.

Why wouldn't I? I liked both games and it's not like they've been trying to fuck us over recently. Just Obsidian.

I doubt I'd buy it if Bethesda developed it. If Obsidian developed it, I'd pre-order.
Please please please please please at the very least co-develop it with Obsidian. They have Tim Cain as full-fledged staff now! Cain! Sawyer! AVELLONE!

I played Fallout 3 and didn't enjoy it. That was my first foray into Fallout games, so I thought I just didn't like the series. But then I decided to give New Vegas a chance when I heard all about the faction system, which was something I had been saying for a long time that Bethesda games needed. And I freaking love New Vegas. I'm currently on my...fifth playthrough? It's just wonderful.

What would I want to see in it? More cause and effect. More heavily themed quests like there were in New Vegas (especially the DLC). I'd like them to center us on a community. Make us really feel part of it, to the point where we will want to come back and check in. Let us try to help that community in different ways (or destroy it) and have it change over the course of the game.

One of the most interesting parts of a post-apocalyptic game to me is the rebuilding of communities, cities, and societies. I'd like to be a direct part of them, and have the changes be tangible.
I would love to see a Mass Effect-like decision system where one decision will have huge impacts later in the game - not just the end. Hell, it can be just like Mass Effect 3 and have you going from faction to faction rallying troops to fight an army of super mutants ruled by a second Master. I don't care where the game takes place; as long as Obsidian has a hand in the game, I will be more than content (Obsidian gets the story and lore, Bethy gets bug testing and tech).

I can't wait for this inevitable game! I plan to pre-order it without even knowing what or if the pre-order bonus will be. I can't wait, with Skyrim (which I did enjoy) I can say that the Fallout series has safely passed the Elder Scroll series as my favorite Bethesda series.

As for what I'd like to see, well...

More wacky, dark humor and the ability to change your characters back story a little bit, like choosing to be a Vault Dweller, a Tribal or a Raider and then getting different events and outcomes based on that decision. It would also give the intro quests a little more variety since they always get old the fifth time I play a game through.

If it isn't a buggy mess, sure.
So basically you're not going to be getting it ever?

I would probably get it, but I'm not sure if I would get it first day or give it a while. I'll just have to wait until it's announced and I know more about it to make a final decision.

I'm torn between the "yes" and "bacon" choices....

More on topic though, yeah I'd buy it. I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Don't know why, but I loved both. Must... resist urge to play... now.

I'd pre-order a new Fallout so hard whether it was made by Bethesda or Obsidian, I loved 3 and NV equally for different reasons.

Well of course they're coming out with a Fallout 4, Bethesda already owns the rights and has already confirmed production. Yes I would, I loved both Fallout 3 and NV and I don't care who develops it as long as it's good. The two games though had their own feels though, Fallout 3 felt more polished especially in terms of environments while NV had more characters and basically the most basic environments ever (looks like they were done in some Fallout 3 map editor instead of a professional coder). Although what I've always liked alot was the combat, particularly since I'm bad at FPS's and it's alot more slower letting me have fun while playing them. I probably wouldn't say that if it not for the fact that I keep playing BF3 while getting raped and reminiscing about how much more fun I had with FO.

Seeing that it is unlikely that Bethesda would not make another Fallout game do you think you would buy it. It could be released in like 20 years time for all we know but I want to know if you would buy it on release, no questions asked. I know I most certainly would. What would you like to see in it.
I've said this before but I'll say it again: I want more color! I was thinking how cool it would be for the next location to be Seattle, Washington, or something. That area has a rich diversity of life, from deserts, to snow covered mountains, to rainforests. Imagine crawling through a dense forest swarming with mutant bugs that want to kill you! SO MUCH FUN!
I would also like to see more colour. I know the world has been bombed but that doesnt mean it has to be all the colors of grey and brown.

Fallout : Australia.
Hell, yeah.
My country in a post-apocolyptic state is something I'd defintely pay to see, but they have to hire real Australians as voice actors. I'd be very displeased to hear Crocodile Dundee type accents across all characters.
