A simple thread. Do you have any ideas for fallout add ons, missions, people, games, ect?

My idea is a short add on for Fallout 3 where you play as a new person (with your normal stats) in a place much like our world today, so no radiation, trees, governments still intact, and stuff like that. But mutants are still here, and people around your town say that after some sort of event the mutants got here. In the beginning, you just go through towns doing normal things like picking up groceries or going to work, but you keep getting attacked by mutants and held up by soldiers protecting the town. Near the end, you find out whoever caused the mutant attack is being protected by the military, and you sneak into one of the trucks to find where they are keeping him, wanting revenge. When you find him, you relies others know where he is, and want his head. So while the military and the mob are fighting, you find out the man is escaping through a portal. You kill him, but are sucked into the portal and enter into the real Fallout universe, meaning that you where in another universe the entire time, possibly our world. As you explore for a few seconds, you see the Lone Wanderer has been killed, and he looks exactly like you, meaning you are the other dimension version of him (that's why you kept the stats). You then take his place and the main story keeps going.

Either that or a mod where you ride a Giddy up Butter Cup and everytime you jump it "Rhinestone Cowboy" plays

What do you think?
What are your ideas.

*Ok, if you don't like it how can it be fixed*

WHAT ARE YOUR IDEAS

It dosn't tie in with the rest of the plot at all, super mutants could exist before the nukes went off, but it would have to have more of a, you playing as a soldier fighting in Alaska setting, and then possibly being experimented on with the FEV, but that's basically Operation Anchorage with some Super Mutant shit thrown in.

Oh and why would there be a portal? Sorry but put more though into your posts or people will just ridicule you.

Yeeeaaaah, no.

It's just a bad idea in general. STALKER is the one with crazy anomalies, not Fallout. I'll take some Americana instead, thanks.

I got lost on "you get attacked while picking up the groceries". If a game told me to pick up groceries and then I got shanked by a super mutant I would be pissed and in hysterics. Sorry I love Fallout and I think fan made stuff is good but people like easy to follow storytelling in RPGs. The simple you chase dad, dad dies you finish his work is gold to me. I look at shorter horror games to give me a story. Then I rip it apart while watching it e.g. Why isn't the military here and why is the writer the only person who can wield a gun properly. Sorry just been playing Alan Wake. Love You All.

No, it's set in another dimension, playing as a new character.

Fallout is set in another world, and may idea is about a diffrent world effected by the fallout monsters because of some guys portal.

I think portal's are in sci-fi culture in the 1950's which is what Fallout is based on.

And no super mutants in this world, maybe they could attack from the other dimension, but this world didn't make the FEV virus.

You would play it as ANOTHER PERSON, and i guess the DLC would only work after you left vault 101.

That doesn't sound like it would fit with the game very well. And it doesn't really make any sense. And I wouldn't want to pick up groceries or go to work in a game.

Well the birth was in first person, so you never really know...

That's probably why the mom died.

OP: No.

I can't see it working I'm afraid. You know what to expect from fallout, the grim hostile world is one of the reasons it's so succesful, setting it, even a 10 minute section, in the modern world would be crazy. Also crossing dimensions is a mechanic that very rarely works, especially with a game with such an established setting.
