Alright, I'm at a crossroads in New Vegas. I'm at the point where you choose who gets New Vegas, I removed all but two to choose from, the NCR and Mr. House. I'm wondering for those who have finished the game, who will be the better ruler? I'm leaning towards NCR because Mr. House may turn into a dictator and he seems intent on doing what NCR is doing to him, taking over. But if he can back up all his claims it may be worth giving him full control. So fellow escapists, help me choose.

Heh, I was faced with the same decision - couldn't very well back Caesar, what with my follower Boone's opinions. About three sentences into conversation with Mr House I realised I'd have to shut him down, it's not even overly hard, and Mr Yes had already eaten a bullet, so the NCR was about the only faction (Brotherhood excluded, their resources being inadequate for controlling the Strip) left to fill the power vacuum.

I accidentally made this important decision when I was drunk the other night... (a bad idea for game-changing choices!)

I went with Benny's ploy- to keep Vegas for myself.. I guess it's the neutral route? I have no idea. So it's me and Yes-bot thing running Vegas it seems. And somehow I allied myself with Caesar. No idea how. Oh well, I might just waltz into his camp and kill him.

I was going to go with the NCR route, but after a few quests they REALLY started to annoy me. Kind of makes me want to bring in the Legion. Then I discovered the Brotherhood Of Steel, did all of their quests.. now a Paladin in their ranks. No idea if this changes things in the end-game at all??

So in the end, it seems or feels I've gone neutral- taken Vegas for me. But my Karma is very high- Vegas Legand, or something like that.

I guess the NCR is the obvious 'good' choice.. urgh. Also- don't you HAVE to kill Mr House? Might be wrong

Appearantly you can get them to ally with you instead of having to wipe them out. That means they will ally with you and the NCR and will fight in the upcoming battle, best of both worlds.

Yes, if you have good enough standing with BoS, and perhaps if you've completed the right quests, it's possible to get the NCR and BoS to declare a cease-fire and cooperate in the retaking of Hoover Dam. Seeing as I was already Idolised, they were happy enough to help out.

As I see it, over 100 years not a dictator, always not a dictator. Also, he explains his plans enough to see he doesn't care to dictate anything beyond security and technology.

Something what others failed at, anyway.

And, seriously, a kinda immortal robotics genius as the ruler... I expect a lot of reason. You can't create and even much less program such smart robots, being an imbalanced idiot of a dictator.

Wild Card. New Vegas needs to make its own decisions. The NCR is nice and all, but they can't even take care of themselves, much less an entire desert. Caesar is an evil arse and Mr. House is insane. You need to free New Vegas.

And besides, who DOESN'T want their own super robot army?

Fuck em all. Kill EVERYONE but keep all the small factions happy. Kill the NCR Mr. House and Ceasar. And then rule the strip with all the tribes of the wasteland backing you. I haven't finshed the game yet but that'd be the good choice

The House always wins, and I'll tell you why, because NCR is just like common day republics(don't kid yourselves, we live in a republic where we only elect people(canada), we rarely vote on actual law). And our common day republic sucks, and if you talk to Mr House and ask him what his plans are, he tells you about how an economicly stable vegas will enable him to eventually construct colony ships so mankind can get a fresh start.

I'd go with House between those two, but Wild Card is really the best way to go.

While Mr. House doesn't seem that bad at first, the endings kinda make you realize the downside to putting him in power.

Mr House or Wild Card. The NCR isn't bad, and its what I chose to support in my first game, but... those other two are probably more likely to yield a long-term positive outcome.

i loved Mr. Houses quests
they were so well designed in the sense that even after the battle for hoover dam you still never really knew if House was good or bad
there were factors to suggest either side

Mr. House - he's the one who seems the most competent at rebuilding humanity (I mean he's lived for 261 years so that's got to sway his vote to some degree), less interested in ruling the world with an iron fist, he seems more interested in keeping his home of Vegas as his own, rather than extending his control outside of it.

After all, if Mr. House dies, a tragedy will befall all mankind...

The NCR just seem incredibly useless, the Legion are a bunch of dicks who just want to crucify people and in my view if you install Yes Man you'll just effectively be installing Mr. House back. Whilst you don't explicitly SEE this happen, there are certain things that Yes Man says which led me to believe this might be the intended meaning ... but that's just me reading a little too much into it perhaps. :D

First playthrough: I went with yes-man, Deafeating the legion and driving the ncr off.
Second playthrough: I tried to go with the NCR, and I got to the point were they start calling you "a hero" and "the savior of the republic" etc. they idolized me by then. But then I did the "the house always wins ?" quest in wich you have to activate
the friggin' droid army of doom underneath ceasar's fortress
and they suddenly hated me for that. forced them to sign mr. house's peace treaty.
with mr.house you get to live in luxury for the rest of your life, because you did so well and because mr. house is proud on himself for hiring you. it was never really clear to me wich ending is good and wich is bad though. (ceasar's is definately the bad one though, even an idiot can see that)

I went for the NCR, but in my opinion everyone in this game was kinda a dick except a few minority.
