Poll: Family sizes

i just heard a story about a pregnant woman who is going to have her 19th child. Nineteen. That's just one away from twenty.

even if you were somehow capable of supporting and raising that many children, which i doubt anyone really is, it just seems incredibly selfish to have that many children when all over the world there are thousands of orphans and foster children in desperate need of a loving home.

any number more than 4 or so just seems ridiculous to me. am i wrong on this?

I doubt they had that child out of love, or for want of another child. They sort of disgust me in this unique kind of way.

Nah, but in all seriousness, provided you can support them emotionally, morally, and financially I don't see why the hell people can't have as many kids as they want, so long as they have enough love to go around.

Problem is that in developing countries especially, families often have around 4 kids or more since in the past most of them would be killed by diseases. Now, the children live and manage to grow up, and they have a lot of kids, so on and so forth.

In the past? In some parts of the world, they still do die. Or you'll have a certain number of babies and expect a bunch of them to die, but then they don't and it's not like you can do anything about it. Or in some cultures, it's a status symbol to have lots of kids. Or in extremely impoverished places, you'll starve unless you have kids to send to work, and the more kids, the more money.

Well those people with the 19 kids are super self sufficient and they are very careful with money. They are not associated with the leech known as Octomom *Shivers*. But i personally believe 2 monsters should be the average, unless the death rate goes up. Also, i wouldn't feel to bad at all if i never had a monster of my own, it would make me a bit happier never to spawn something into this world just so it has to suffer along with the rest of the monsters and beasts of this world.

I think 3 is the maximum sensible number, because it starts getting akward and annoying after that.

I say that from being the second oldest out of four boys; I only got my own bedroom when I was 16 (greatly reduced masturbation prospects before that), my parents are being driven up the wall having to pay for all of us (my two younger brothers are going to a private school, WHAT THE FUCK?), four means even huge amounts of trouble between us when we were younger... the list goes on.

actually she only found out she was pregnant because she wasnt losing weight with Weight Watchers. that's a pretty big red flag right there.
