Question about guns. I saw a trailer where a guy use his gun too long, and over time it started getting rusty, it was through water, etc. etc.

Then while firing it just fucking exploded. I know guns can mess up on you and I've only heard a few cases of this, but do guns really just "pop" like that?

I don't think all misfires are going to be catastrophic, but all guns will degrade and eventually break over time. Sometimes they'll explode in the event of a misfire, or they can jam, break or just fall apart. I'm sure I saw one video where the bolt blew out the back of a rifle.

God only knows what'll happen when the flamethrower packs it in.

And yes, if something is clogging the barrel or the hammer comes down on the bullet without it having a clean chamber to pass through, the pressure still has to go somewhere which usually means the barrel shattering. I don't have a link to anything "expert" but here's a Yahoo Q&A on the topic.

Without super mutant powers, this makes it no different from any other run of the mill FPS. I liked the first one and I thought the story got bad toward the end, but I liked predator mode in multiplayer. I don't know how to feel about this game.

Yeah L.B. - that's the one, and ok good to know because I knew guns bolts can fly out or barrells can shatter, etc. - but the MP5 in that video just looked like it friggin' popped like a balloon. Still, makes enough sense and I can see it happening. Heck I bet there's videos on youtube showing mistreated guns popping so I'll start searching.

Also, S_Scar, I'm gonna expect a lot of people saying "WTF? THERE IS THIS BUG WHERE I SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST! - but little do they know, they were being assholes to their flamethrower!

Far Cry 2 looks amazing, I'm definitely planning on getting it unless something drastic happens.

Yeah, the late 08 season is really crowded. So much so that I have to limit what I buy :'( I'm atleast making sure I get Resistance 2 and LBP, then Farcry 2, Mirror's Edge, and Bioshock. Maybe then Fallout 3and any other titles.

I have to prioritize.

EDIT: Oh, and CoD5, if money permits. Note: I change my rankings if I hear a game is equal to the Second Coming.
