What type of zombies are you talking about? those zomibes that are reanimated corpses, or those who are humans, who have been infected by some kind of disease?

Slow zombies.
the reason for it isnt that it would be easyer to get away form them or that shit its because they aren't killed or noticed as quickly as the new fast runners, haven't you noticed that the new remakes with the fast zombies they make a shit-ton of noise where the slow ones then to be a little quieter and it hard to tell how many you are dealing with until they are Ripping you apart.

This change has been debated among zombie movie enthusiasts for ages. Zombies began as slow-moving, rotting corpses, so naturally, some people felt that giving them the ability to run simply ruined the concept of a zombie in general.
well... to be fair the original Zombies where normal people controlled by Vodoo so they could do anything they humanly could do

then the myth became about corpses wich granted better control for the Vodoo doers but awfull mobility.

well... at least thats what i have heard

IMO?? i prefer the running type, they make for better target practice hehehe, and if you saw some corpses running at you, that would be awesome... in the nerdiest way

I pick slow zombies. When I think zombie I think of slow stumbling creatures that are rotted to the point that muscle connections just aren't always there to move them quickly. Maybe a few could move somewhat quickly but not sprinting athlete style. That's just crap, IMO.

They get you with their numbers and pure stubborness, not because they are in excellent physical shape!

Slow ones, in huge waves so it's all about defensive stand. I like it when it's a little tactical and not just shoot 'em up

Well, gee, it's this thread again. people who make these threads are the reason people are assholes about the search-bar. I'm seriously sick and fucking tired of people making 10-15 zombie threads whenever a new book/movie/game comes out, it's fucking annoying. [/rant]

Slow zombies. I prefer being overwhelmed by a huge number of slow moving zombies than by a few fast ones. I think one of the coolest things about zombie scenarios is watching the endless, unstoppable wave of the undead coming towards the protagonists, who probably don't have enough ammo to kill them all.
I just find it more terrifying... it all starts pretty well, you think you can take on a few of them... they are slow, so you could ooutrun them. 5 minutes later the streets are full of zombies and there's no way you can get past them.

I like both kinds of zombies. They provide different moviegoing experiences.

Well I like both if I can say that.

1. The slow zombies are easier to avoid and give you time to think but tend to be bullet sponges and can take an entire armory to the face before they die. (Resident evil zombies)

2. The fast zombies give you less time to think and can cut you off if you try to run but it takes less ammo to drop them; sometimes one pistol shot. (Left 4 Dead zombies)

So, there needs to be a butter zone where they don't run but they don't just shamble around either and can take like half a clip instead of an entire armory or just one shot.

slow zombies are two easy, fast zombies make you look out for yourself, in contrast a very large crowd of slow zombies can be just as scary as one really fast guy flying around the corner

Slow, tough, enduring zombies are always fun and build far more suspense and creepiness than fast zombies, which just scare you for a brief moment before getting killed, because they're mostly not tough.

Slow zombies are not only boring, they are non-threatening.

How do you escape a massive horde of slow zombies? Walk at a brisk pace, or ride a bike. Ever seen the original Dawn of the Dead from the 70's? At one point they enter the mall, filled with zombies and they just run around them like they were pylons.

I never got how the slow zombies managed to "infect" the world. Its so easy to kill them or escape from them that it shouldn't have even been a challenge for any decently organized force.

Fast Zombies are at least scary in the "omg we have to run out asses off or we are zombie food" kinda way, ala "Rage Virus" or Dawn of the Dead remake, and CERTAINLY more threatening.

Depends on the overall idea on how the zombie's are meant to create fear. Fast is meant to present overwhelming odds in a short time frame. Slow usually is that no matter what you throw at them they just keep coming. In general I prefer slow but it takes a little bit more to pull of correctly in a game/movie/book so I would take a good fast over a bad slow any day.

When playing games I prefer a fast zombie, faster pace, more shocking, more danger, more fun.
