Since the Escapist only allows 8 options, I've divided them into 4 categories, arranged based on which of the three classic RPG classes they fit into.

I've started with a warrior, really because I need the decent defense scores without being as weighed down as the knight is because I suck at the game. So how about you?

EDIT: It seems once again the Escapist has seen it fit to erase the Poll options from threads I start, so here were the options.

WARRIOR CLASSES: Warrior, Knight, Bandit

ROUGE CLASSES: Wanderer, Thief, Hunter,

MAGE CLASSES: Sorcerer, Pyromancer, Cleric

IDIOT CLASS: Deprived

EDIT 2: Right, so I'm putting Deprived as the idiot class because its the most difficult to play as. Its just a little joke.

The idiot class? It's a class with high all around stats but with a loss of starting armor... how is that stupid? That means if you want to start off with high stats and are good enough to not get hit you'll be fine. The opposite of an idiot would pick that class.

Very much this, the deprived class is for those who want to fully customize the classes stats, since they all start at 11 there is no need to play catch up with the others as you level. The Deprived class is supposed to be the most challenging class, and is meant for players looking for the most difficulty.

Anyways picking a favorite class really does become a moot point after leveling, since you aren't locked out of other professions you can start off as a rogue and end up as a plate wearing, greatsword wielding, sorcerer.

The Deprived as actually a really good class. It gets quite a few extra levels of stats that the other classes don't. You'll just have to use Hollow armor until you find your first set, which isn't too far into the game.

Classes don't really matter in Dark Souls, as long as you level your stats in certain areas, you can use sorcery, pyromancy, etc. All it really affects is your starting armor.

In what way is the deprived a idiot class? it just starts with not very good gear and good balanced stats.

What the hell is an idiot class? I was going to play as deprived on my second playthrough. Do you know what Deprived means?

OT: i chose Bandit, i'm lvl 90 and i regretted it since lvl 15 lol . Anyways , i think , Mage classes are overpowered ( even through class only matter for the begining of the game ).

I put it as idiot class because deprived start with only a crappy shield and a club, 11 on every stat, and level 6 meaning it costs more for them to level up than any other class from the beginning. You'd be an idiot to choose it on the first run because it would make the game much more difficult. But if you're looking for a challenge after you've been through the game once, sure, go ahead.
